Griselle (hope we are spelling her name correctly), the youthful and vibrant owner, made our first dining experience at Il Nonno incredible. We randomly walked in on a Saturday afternoon celebrating our one week wedding anniversary. From the second we sat down, she was so knowledgeable and ready to provide suggestions and hear what we were looking for. Every dish she suggested was better than the previous. It’s very obvious that this establishment cares about the finer details and showcasing the chef’s exceptional knowledge and pallet . From the off-white colored table clothes to the delectable Luxardo cherries in the old fashion cocktails – this place is 10/10.
As Astoria natives, I can not recommend Il Nonno enough. Vibes are exquisite – perfect for a date night, or to grab a well balanced cocktail. Music playing- Olivia Dean, Khruangbin, lofi vibes. Absolutely a 10/10 experience from ambiance to service. The food and pear desert takes the cake as well. We’ve been around the block with restaurants in this neighborhood and i can confidently say we left ecstatic about the experience. Wish we took pictures of the main dishes but we were too excited to eat them!

My fiancé and I had an amazing time having our NYE dinner at Il Nonno. The service was so warm and friendly, the music was great, the cocktails were delightful, and the food was amazing! I had the truffle ravioli and he had the boar ragu and we both couldn’t decide which one we liked more. Definitely will be returning!

Much of the appetizers were vegetarian based and was fairly standard, but some had too much sauce. The red snapper was well done and fresh. The pasta was on the chewy side and didn’t sit too well with me. The risotto was nice and creamy, but the scallops were a bit rubbery. Overall the dishes were prepared well, just with some quirks

Very friendly, very relaxing and good vibes, food was delicious and the cocktail was delicious, the breast chicken with potatoes was amazing. It was an amazing experience, good to celebrate birthday or special events.

Had an amazing dinner here with the girls before the holidays. The space is quaint and cozy, but the hospitality truly made the night, especially Grissel. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely cared for from start to finish.
The food was outstanding. The bruschetta was simple and extremely fresh (best I’ve had), and my rigatoni with vodka sauce + chicken was unreal. The vodka sauce is off-menu and absolutely worth it. Every dish at the table impressed, the ravioli, clams, risotto and eggplant pomodoro with shrimp. Even the chef stopped by to share recommendations, which made the experience feel extra special.
One of the best girls’ nights and dinners we’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to come back!

I had a late lunch here on a whim and let me tell you this is exactly what our neighborhood has been missing! Upscale Italian dishes in a friendly cozy environment and as an added bonus – walking distance from home! I cannot wait to become a regular here. The food and service are exceptional! The drinks are strong! And the ambiance is unforgettable!

While visiting our daughter in Astoria, we ate at Il Nonno for lunch. We chose the restaurant because they were participating in Restaurant Week and we will ABSOLUTELY eat there again. I have several food restrictions and the chef and waitress were the most accommodating I have EVER experienced. The chef actually created a special sauce for my salmon in order to accommodate my dairy free & gluten free food restrictions. Also, the hostess & waitress, Grissel, was absolutely delightful. So sweet!!! By the end of the meal we felt like she was a personal friend. The attention that we received made us feel like we were eating at a Michelin star restaurant!

First time coming here, and I must say everything was fantastic. There were 2 seats open at the bar, we sat, ordered the burrata prosciutto for an appetizer, it was so fresh and delish along with the crispy bread! My son had the truffle pasta (penne), absolutely delish, and I had the chicken parm. Everything was fresh and delish. The cheese cake was so good. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We will definitely be back. Oh, and the customer service was top-notch!

Such a lovely place. The hostess and the owners were so kind. The food was amazing. Absolutely delicious. The calamari stayed crispy, the bolognese was great, the sirloin steak was tender. The roasted potatoes? Ordered an extra side of those because they were soft like pillows. Everything was so good. Highly recommend.

I am extremely glad to have come across Il Nonno, upon arrival you are greeting with kindness. It’s a beautiful cozy setting great for date night or even girls night.
The chef is extremely talented, we enjoyed absolutely everything we ate. The sauces and homemade noodles and gnocchi hold a special place in my heart now.
I am glad I came here for my birthday and excited to return to enjoy some ridiculously scrumptious Italian food in Queens.
