This is my go-to place for authentic Mexican food. I grew up in SoCal near East LA. The food is always fresh and savory, never greasy. The employees are knowledgeable about the ingredients and friendly. And you just can’t beat the prices. I got a three taco dinner plate with rice and beans (2 asada and 1 barbacoa). Very juicy without being soggy. Husband got a picadillo beef torta. The salsas have a kick so use sparingly. I come here two or three times a week. When we don’t know what to have for dinner, Cilantro is always a good bet. We can also eat it late at night and it doesn’t weigh heavy on our bellies.

I was so excited to see that cilantros had made their way to Texas. I am from Chicago and LOVED their tacos. I was excited to have a piece of home here. However the tacos are not the same. The meat wasn’t as juicy or flavorful. The horachata was pretty much the exact same and the salsa weren’t as spicy. It took away the home sick feel but wasn’t quite as good.

We wanted to get some tacos for lunch so we figured we’d try a new location. The asada and the chicken tacos were great! I asked for the tripas to be crispy and they were very rubbery. The carnitas were good pork tacos but just didn’t get that carnitas flavor. The taco salad was very tasty and my daughter even like the shell. The sauces were very good. The horcata was good. The elote could have used some valentina but that’s just our preference. The staff was very nice.

Our favorite taco joint in the area. The amount of food is substantial. We’ve tried everything on their menu and we like every single thing. I love going to a restaurant and never being disappointed. In the pic on the left are picadillo tacos and on the right are chile relleno tacos, traditional style.

We had a great dine-in experience at Cilantro Taco Grill! The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The food was authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious—especially with the extra salsa! The restaurant is clean, the service is great, and the whole atmosphere feels warm and inviting. Big thanks to all the workers for making it such a great visit. Highly recommend if you’re craving real Mexican food done right!

The food was NOT the best. We order chorizo tacos, two chicken tacos, Al Pastor tacos, and 2 beef tongue tacos. Every one was bland with no seasoning, and dried out as if it was sitting out under a heat lamb. They didn’t put any sauce in the bag. It was definitely a horrible first time experience.

Lalas are closed Sundays so I had to find a similar place , I decided to come here right down the road . So glad I did! Clean interior with cold a/c. Greeted immediately. Menu with prices shown clearly (like fast food style, no waiters). Tried the horchata and pineapple aguas frescas, $4 ish for a large. And the birria 3 count tacos with small consume , FULL to the max with meat ! Hot and fresh too! Done quick . Both staff were welcoming and appreciative of anyone who try’s them out. They DO have $2 taco tuesdays (basic meats like chicken) . We will definitely be back. Plenty of interior dining tables/chairs, currently their patio is closed but for future reference they do have one .

This is my 3rd and last time coming here. During their grand opening they gave a decent amount of meat (I ordered asada tacos). The second time, they charge nearly $5 per taco and give very little meat- today I ordered burritos and the meat was sprinkled in. It’s literally a lettuce and bean burrito with a few pieces of meat. I love supporting local but the quality is horrible- you can’t charge this much for your food with tiny portions of meat. The picture below is from my second visit. The other picture is their burrito

My wife and I recently visited Cilantro for a weekday lunch, hoping to find a good spot with solid vegetarian choices. I will acknowledge that we appreciated seeing dedicated vegetarian options on the menu, including beans, veggie fillings, and the Impossible plant-based protein. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the overall experience fell drastically short of expectations.
We ordered the Veggie Taco Salad, Elote, and a side of Chips and Salsa to share. The main issue was the Veggie Taco Salad. Ironically for a restaurant named Cilantro, the salad was completely devoid of the herb, and more critically, it was completely flavorless. We were genuinely sharing the salad and neither of us could stomach more than half of it before we decided to stop eating it.
The sides were equally underwhelming. The salsa and the elote were mediocre at best and certainly not “spectacular” enough to justify the prices. The lack of flavor and poor execution across all dishes made us feel we paid a premium for a decidedly substandard meal.
Overall, this was a deeply disappointing visit. I honestly believe we would have had a much better, more flavorful experience at a fast-casual chain like Chipotle or Qdoba, and likely at half the cost. Given this experience, we will not be visiting Cilantro again.

Best-kept secret in Prosper?? We stumbled on this place after leaving a local body shop (ps- if you need repairs, see Connor at Caliber Collision) and stopped to grab a quick bite for lunch. WOW! I wasn’t expecting them to be so good, hence the afterthought on picture! The tacos were so delicious and full of meat, I had a barbacoa, husband had two steak and a picadillo and everything was SPOT ON DELICIOUS! I told the cashier about my dairy allergy and he recommended the barbacoa. It was perfect! The service was excellent, friendly, fast and clean! Definitely going back and will have better pictures next time!
