Our experience at La Cave was downright exceptional. Beginning with the architecture – which reminded my husband and I of our European adventures – to walking down the staircase to the speakeasy-esc bar, the experience was remarkable. The atmosphere was elegant, and the service by our bartender Austin was superb. Austin tailored our experience, creating custom cocktails just for us and made our night. Highly recommend this upscale boutique bar for a great date night or celebrating an occasion.

Seating is intimate but not cramped, and the atmosphere manages to feel both exclusive and unpretentious. It’s the ideal spot for date nights or friends who appreciate craft mixology with a touch of theater.

Went to La Cave to have a few cocktails. Bartender was sharp and very knowledgeable about the drinks he was making. Drinks were delicious. Stairs are a whirly twirly good time , atmosphere is fun, and the restroom is pretty sweet.

We stopped here this evening for dinner and a cocktail before a show at the Pump House. The atmosphere was amazing and our server was welcoming. We placed our drink orders, but then our server didn’t come back until she had our drinks (20 minutes later).

She quickly left after dropping off our drinks and we didn’t see her again until 45 minutes after we arrived. We then asked for an appetizer, as we didn’t have time to wait for dinner. Upon dropping off our appetizers our server said she would grab us silverware. Well, we finished our appetizer with a tooth and our hands, and then paid and left for our show.

We completely understand if you’re busy or understaffed, but we weren’t even able to order dinner. We will plan to give the plane another try.

We had an excellent time here. The atmosphere is amazing, and we’d definitely come back. The service is very attentive, but never annoying. Hayden was our bartender and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks, and the menu. If your looking for a “different” experience, this is it. A great place to bring a date. The food is also excellent. Definitely recommend!

Went to this place for some drinks, and it was amazing! The cocktails were delicious (try the Starry Night — it was absolutely divine). The smoked drinks look fun to get as well. The vibe was classy and elegant, and the workers were very professional.

‘La Cave’ is, in my opinion, the most unique and interesting bar or speakeasy in La Crosse. Definitely a place to bring your family and friends to give them an incomparable experience. My husband and I have visited a few times now, and most recently we brought a friend. I tried the “Chloris” off of the cocktail menu, my husband tried the “Zeus” and our friend had the “Fume Old Fashioned.” They both preferred the Chloris over their own drinks I recommend the artisan sausage platter; the bison skewers were a tougher meat, but still flavorful. I tried the escargot, which I learned I do not enjoy, but our friend absolutely loved them and gave his compliments to the chef. The only downside to this visit was that one female bartender that intitially served us seemed either extremely unhappy to be there or did not care to treat us with a warmly. The attitude was palpable and we uncomfortably caught her glaring at us from across the bar a few times. The other two bartenders were very kind, made great conversation, helped us with the menu and made us feel welcomed.

La Cave serves the area’s best craft cocktails in a unique and inviting environment. Each time I descend the spiral staircase I feel like I am stepping into a speakeasy, and I know I am in store for something special.

The bartenders are very friendly, knowledgeable, and masterfully create each drink with precision and care. The seasonally changing cocktail menu is one of the most extensive I have seen, containing everything from classic cocktails, barrel aged and smoked cocktails, to many of their own excellent specialty creations. And if that isn’t enough, you can always go with the Bartender’s Choice where they will create something personally just for you.

The appetizers and desserts (from the French restaurant Le Chateau upstairs) are wonderful, and the imported wine and beer lists make sure there is something for everyone.

La Cave is a must visit in La Crosse. You will not be disappointed.

Hadn’t been here in years but stopped in when we were in town and were definitely impressed! The atmosphere was lively, the service was great, and most importantly, the drinks were fantastic. 10 out of 10

The best cocktail bar in La Crosse by far! When you go here, ask the bartenders to make you a custom cocktail. If there’s something on the menu that seems interesting but you want it tweaked a bit, they know the questions to ask and how to change how they make it to suit your tastes. Don’t think twice, visit La Cave on your next night out!
