My husband and I went in for lunch on a weekend. The place was well decorated and maintained . The food was served in a timely manner. I enjoyed the burmese tea leaf salad which had a variety of textures . The spicy fried egg noodles and aloo cutlet with the sauce was good as well. My husband liked his pork curry . I would definitely recommend this place. The spice levels were well managed and we enjoyed the heat that we asked for !

I was so excited this place opened up! I’ve never had Burmese food before. Being Hmong, a lot of the items on the menu seemed “familiar” because we have a lot of similar dishes in our cuisine. However, the flavors are slightly different, so just be prepared for that if you are used to more lao/thai/Hmong style papaya salads and coconut drinks!
I wasn’t a huge fan of the “saltiness” in the drinks, but again, that’s just my own preference and it was just different than I’m used to in my coconut drinks. The pork belly was delicious and crispy. The portions are generous and I had plenty of leftovers for myself. I want to go back and try the other dishes for sure!

Me and my family recently went for my dad’s birthday. All the food was extremely fresh and had that home cooked feel to it. Any one of the curry dishes are recommended. The smoked duck was also a must have.

Fresh, original, from scratch recipes. Healthy size portions. One order could be shareable if desired. I tried the lunch special. I let my server pick out the items. The dried tea salad is a punch of spices and earthy textures. Ones that I’ve never experienced before. This whole restaurant is a great experience. I can taste the love in the prepared food. These guys should be very proud of themselves! Will definitely come back !

Our dinner was wonderful! It truly brought back memories of our cycling tour across Burma many years ago. For cuisine unlike anything else in Milwaukee, give it a try. I would recommend going with the 3 on the spice level as I like my food spicy and 3 was perfect.

Unique Milwaukee restaurant. Party of 5 shared everything. Aloo cutlets great, better than samosas. Tried fermented tea leaf salad with a bit of apprehension as reviewers described funk, but we all enjoyed taste and crunchiness. Shrimp removed posted on menu. Chicken glass noodle soup had great broth, server provided 5 bowls so we could split. Needed a knife or scissors to split noodles. Worst offense was that the quail eggs were omitted. Waitress knocked off only $3 when I brought to her attention. The eggs were the main reason I ordered. Main entrees Kat ksyi kaik and goat curry enjoyed by all. The sauv blanc on menu paired well. 20% tip auto added parties 5 or more. Difficulty splitting check. Have a great lunch sampler which I posted but didn’t try. This would be a great entry to the cuisine. Update: $17.99 4 course lunch special. Party of 4. Enabled us to try soup, 2 apps, 4 salads and mains. The service was stellar and the flavors and textures awesome.

I’ve been wanting to check out Ni Burmese for a couple of months and I’m so glad I finally did! The pork belly salad was just the right amount of spice and acidity — and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the Mont Hin Ga if you want a savory fish soup that feels perfect for fall in Wisconsin. Plus kind, attentive service that didn’t feel overbearing and really cool regional decor. Can’t wait to come back!

I love the food! It was amazing!
I got the papaya salad – medium on the spice level and it was soooooo good! Then we ordered the Pork Curry, 10/10, I love the tomato sauce that it was boiled in! Chicken Pad Thai was delicious and huge in serving size. Pork ribs (you get roughly 5-6 pieces) were hot, crispy, and delicious! The service was amazing and quick! Our server, Fa, was so sweet and she answered all of our questions so well! The sweet lady/staff (i’m not sure if she was the owner or not) she gave us complimentary clear veggie soup, SO SOOTHING and comforting! Never knew I needed that! I did not even speak to my brother and mother – i was just eating everything i could because it was so good! My experience was amazing overall and I wish everyone also experiences the same thing my family did!

Great place, delicious food, attentive staff. I never had Burmese food before but I’m already dying to come back. The soups are spectacular, with super flavorful broth, the chickpea tofu has the best most custard like texture I’ve ever tried, and the sour plum juice is perfectly sweet and refreshing without any overpowering or artificial taste. I would 100% recommend to anyone to give it a try!

We visited on a Friday evening and absolutely loved everything we tried. The flavors were exciting and delicious, the portions were large, and the service was good.
The space is bright and welcoming, with both bar and table seating. Casual dining but beautifully presented.
Our group tried the Fried Pork Roll, Kat kyi kaik – spicy Burmese fried noodle dish (we chose pork), Pork Ribs, and Lamb Curry. They have a nice selection of beer, wine, and sake as well as NA drinks.
Everyone loved their food! We will absolutely be back – this family owned restaurant is such a great addition to the Milwaukee food scene and the neighborhood.
