I ended up leaving before even ordering because it was gonna take too long. Why even bother to open if you only have one employee?
For a restaurant that seemed to be slow and was completely empty except for our family during our entire visit, they were out of a lot of items. There were no olives (I asked, they were out), the avocado was down to brown scrapings at the bottom of the container (no thank you), we took the last of the banana peppers and bell peppers, and this location doesn’t carry the veggie patty, they just offer the “veggie delight” (AKA a limp salad on a bun). None of the offerings looked or tasted very fresh.
The staff was friendly and attentive. They were polite in accommodating dietary requests, and made the sandwiches as expected. However they were not very knowledgeable: no one seemed to know about the “mini” breads that were listed on the menu when I asked, nor about the veggie patty. We had to ask for our sandwich to be unwrapped and toasted after the employee forgot the first time, and although we had stated a couple of times that we did not want the meal deal, the other employee still asked about it. I’m really not trying to bash the employees: that’s all the level of job performance I’d expect for kids being paid minimum wage, and they were polite & friendly enough.
My partner & I split a 12″ veggie delight while his parents each got 6″ meat subs. None of us enjoyed our food. To quote my partner’s father when asked how he liked his, “It’s… edible.” This would have just been a forgettable if not enjoyable experience until we hit the bathrooms before leaving.
And oh good gravy, were they gnarly. I’m not super picky about bathrooms but I had to step around poop stains to get to the women’s toilet. The trail of poo water dripping down the side of the toilet and over to the toilet wand told the story of a mess someone tried to clean and evidently just gave up. This was in no way presentable to customers, and the staff had had ample down time to address the issue. I only hope they did something about it after we notified them before the next people were subjected to that.
Subway, if you want employees to do a better job, I imagine you simply have to pay them more. And I know that I, for one, would be more willing to spend money more frequently in reliably clean restaurants that are well-stocked with fresh, flavorful ingredients. This was not their best location by far, and I can’t recommend it to anyone.
0/10 does not recommend.
