I’m team Ghana Jollof all day, but I’ll be honest — the only Nigerian Jollof that even comes close is at Jungle African Restaurant. Their Jollof is fire, and the Egusi is so good I had to order a second one to take home. Everything tastes like real, well-prepared home food. The place is always clean (even the restroom, which says a lot), the environment looks great, and they even have a 360° camera stand for photos while you wait for your food. Great food, great vibes, great spot.”

The Jungle Plate is definitely worth a visit! The dry jerk chicken bowl was flavorful and well-seasoned — not too spicy, just right. The egussi stew was decent and comforting, and the suya was tender and nicely grilled.
Service was great, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere made for an enjoyable dining experience. Presentation was also on point!
Overall, a solid 4-star experience, I drove 3 hours to try from Michigan!

The Jungle Plate is absolutely amazing! ️ The food is flavorful and always hits the spot. The atmosphere at the restaurant is great, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. When I don’t feel like dining in, I order online through their website, and their service is just as fantastic. 10/10 , I highly recommend it!

My husband and I wanted to support Black owned businesses for Black History month and The Jungle Plate was our first visit. It was also my first introduction to West African cuisine. We really enjoyed our meal and was pleasantly surprised with the many flavors experienced. No doubt that we will order from them again in the future. Maybe even dine in the next time 🙂

Had ugusi and the spicy chicken bowl for myself and my sister. Really enjoyed the chicken bowl, the meat was tender and flavorful. Rice was nice and smoky and I loved the spinach too. I treat my family when they visit from Chicago, they love the food as well!

Food was unsatisfactory. We have purchased this exact meal several times and it is has never come out look this. If you look at other reviews from the restaurant you can see that the plate is different. It is missing spinach. Upon calling to see how it could be rectified I was told there were no options and how they gave it to me had to be good enough. After patronizing this business since they were in Bolingbrook, I will never purchase from them again.

Was looking for a Ghanaian west African restaurant and decided to give this one a go. The owner was very respectful and friendly she was happy to see us. The food was worth every penny delicious flavor reminded me of home. I will be back with a bigger group!!

Had their vegan jungle plate at Vegandale 2025. It did not disappoint. They serve with an authentic smile and great spirit. The jollof combined with the side of palm oil, peppers, spinach and sweet plantains nearly drove me insane. I was not a big fan of the muffins, though. They weren’t nasty, I just wasn’t familiar with the texture. I actually found their address online and love that they’re on my work commute. I will be making them a staple for my jollof and plantain needs. Also, I would love to try their beans. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Wow, first time dinning here and I have to say everything was excellent! From the great service to the delicious food, we had egusi & fufu plus coconut rice with chicken, we dined in and glad we did, where I come from we love to listen to music when we sit down to eat so this place was perfect! Definitely returning soon!

The service was extremely good. The employee was super nice and prompt. She prepared the food fast and it came out hot and delicious when she brought it out. I had the Egusi soup and Fufu; it was delicious. I had it with the fish and the fish was fried perfectly. I also had the jollof and moi moi…. Delicious, I will be going back again.
