Darn. I read the reviews and I was hopeful that they were wrong.
Do NOT go here for Indian Food unless your taste is unable to handle spices or it has been overly americanized.

I got Chicken Tikka Masala and butter naan.

Right off the bat, when you go in. It is confusing. There is a door for the Indian restaurant, but it is locked. You have to go in through Amore. Great business concept. But I didnt go there for the business concept, I went there for the food.

The first thing about the food is that it is not a big serving. I regularly go to Spice Garden. And the servings are much latger. And the same price.

Then there is the look and taste.

When I opened the bag. Right offhand, it is guaranteed wrong. Chicken Tikka Masala is a darker red. I got what looks like tomato bisque.
Really it is a light orange/red color, almost a creamy tomato sauce color. Like a bisque.

Immediately the dread set in. That is not the correct color. Look it up online. But better yet, look at the picture for reference that I attached. It is a general Google search of Chicken Tikka Masala. (Close-ish in color, just MUCH lighter than it should be) And a picture next to a smaller coffee mug for size reference.

Now, I still was willing to give it a shot, maybe they just put more cream in it than they normally do.

I am not sure what was done. It sadly tastes exactly like the other reviews said. Like tomato soup from a can with some attempt at adding Indian spices.
I couldn’t eat it. At all. I tried a small bite and it just tasted like a bland tomato soup with some different spices.

I know that when a similar review was previously given by another person, the owner replied back with he uses nothing from the can and it is all homemade.

I have made this homemade. It is my favorite meal. This is NOT homemade. If it in some world is homemade, then there is something off about the ingredients being used.

*the naan looked ok,ish, a bit floppy. Not like normal. It did have a hair on it, that was gross. But since I didnt eat it or the rest of the food, I cannot give a better taste review on that.

I would not go here for Indian food. Unless your version is WAY more American than the original. This is not Indian food.
This was not even good. I am saddened by this….

I went to the location on Swan, it was very good! I was expecting this location to be the same as Swan, but the Tandoori chicken was practically raw and the butter chicken was not sealed correctly causing it to spill everywhere. I wasn’t even able to enjoy my food and I would like a refund. Please, do not go here!

We went there for a Valentine’s dinner, expecting savory, flavorful authentic Indian food. We ordered change masala & lamb curry. Both seemed like they opened up a can of Campbell’s cream of tomato soup and added a scant few Indian spices- very bland. It was edible. That’s about the best I can say. We were quite disappointed. We sat outside and had a hard time getting the waitress’s attention. We had three things for leftovers (rice & the 2 dishes), but they only gave us two boxes.
At the time there were only two reviews and both were 5 stars. I just wanted to leave this, so others won’t be mislead like we were.

The only saving grace was the generous portion. The flavor is generic. The food was cold. I’m pretty sure these are pre-made en masse and then microwaved. This restaurant is mixed in with Vero Amore and a chicken wing place. Last time I ate at Vero it was just as generic and disappointing. There are so few options out here… its a real disappointment to have another flop.

Tonight was my first time trying Indian Twist. The term, “stay in your lane” was the constant thought while eating my dinner tonight. Aric & Josh are great at what they do, but this new venture was a disappointment to say the least. My order included the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, and garlic Naan. This was NOT Indian food. My butter chicken lacked flavor. It tasted like Campbell’s Tomato Soup with some extra spice. The chicken was tender and lean, but completely lacked Indian flavor. My tandoori chicken was dry, and also lacked traditional tandoori flavor. The garlic Naan was rubbery and was clearly pizza dough that was dressed with garlic and olive oil. The rice was basic with no traditional Indian saffron flavored rice. The price was not adequate either. I paid $50.00 for 2 dishes, and a side of Naan. The portions were half the size of competing Indian restaurants in this area. Lastly, the to go packaging leaked all over as it was brought to me. The staff did their best to remedy the dripping butter chicken sauce all over the other items and plastic bags, but in the end, it was a messy drive home. So all and all, I was very disappointed. I had high hopes, because all other restaurants created by the two brothers have rarely let me down. This one did just that. Hopefully, this review can shed some light on some much needed improvements. We have very few options here at Dove Mountain, so I’m always looking forward to support any new restaurants that open in this area.
