This diner was recommended to us while we were in the area. The place was easy to find, adorable, well kept and very clean. We came right before the waitresses were due to switch shifts, so we had the pleasure of dealing with two very lovely waitresses. Both were fun and attentive. The food was excellent and tasted very fresh. If we are in the area again, we will definitely return.

First time to eat at coalfield, had heard it was good and agree, the food was delicious!
It was very busy so delivery of food took a while. The selection is good, something for everyone, the deserts looked great but was too full from our entrees to get one.
If you’re in the Jennerstown area and are hungry give them a try.

New management. Fresh & clean dinning area. Simple clean decor. See pics of menu & food ordered. Prices are very reasonable. I have visited a few times & recommend a stop by eat for a try. All the dishes that came to my table was very good!
TO THE OWNER: job well done on decor, cleanliness of dinning area. Suggestion: have 1 designed person on that register / greet / all around hand in dinning area at all times. I have experienced on the few times I have stopped, no1 (wait staff) around at check out / wait staff is OK but takes more time than necessary to return. I’ve also experiance wait time for/at check out (stopped by to pick up a desert). There will always be a kink to work out, but over all ur on a good path.

I contemplated on making this post because I hate leaving bad reviews for small town businesses. Let’s start with the walk in, very dim lighting & not too busy for a Saturday morning (yes! This food will be hot since they aren’t in a huge hurry to prepare it and it won’t sit since the staff doesn’t have very many tables to tend to)! So many choices on the menu that I can’t imagine that it’s all fresh! Get my food and what they call “home fries” were just boiled potatoes that were sliced down and not fried (I get restaurants boil them ahead of time so they are cooked, but they also fry them so they are crispy & hot) The bacon was all but raw & the burrito was soggy & cold in the center. The waitress was cheerful & attentive!

We stopped in along our travels yesterday. They are very friendly folks. The atmosphere was chill and felt homey. Our server was excellent. We had our dog with us and they allowed us to have her in the outdoor area. They treated her nicely too. I also like that you can be seated outside without being blinded by the sun. The food was really good. My husband is still raving about the rye bread that he’d gotten as part of his meal. We will definitely be back.

Eaten here a couple of times always had great service and great food. The brisket sandwich I had was amazing! They also have a large menu and offer daily specials that should suit anyone.

Now, that was a great little place to stop! The baked Haddock was excellent, and so was the creamy cheesy Mac n cheese and coleslaw! No complaints, great food, and great service, thank you!

Started off with the Italian sampler- fried meatballs were just old chewy meatballs, ravioli also chewy and flavorless, the pepperoni balls were good- so was the marinara
Beer cheese and pretzels were good
“Beer cheese burger” was trash, along with the chewy pretzel roll it came on. I’m not one to waste food- but this was the exception.
Not sure who taste tested the honey mustard, ranch, or coleslaw but it should all be thrown away and don’t reattempt.
Service was decent- front desk was good.
I don’t know who was cooking tonight- but they should reevaluate them. I don’t know how others were able to rate more than 3 stars- so maybe it was just an off night.
