We were looking for something light after the mulberry picking, and we found this place for a quick lunch. We had soft shell crab, tempura (shrimp and veggies), and rainbow roll. We were not impressed by the food: The roll was very small and the shrimp was bland.

The sushi is fair. However, the service felt a bit rushed. I went on a Tuesday around 230pm and it was not busy. While I was still eating, the server asked me three times if I was done. I came here to enjoy my meal, not to feel pressured to finish quickly.

Sushi was fine but honestly the service was incredibly rude. They were literally rushing me and my son out cleaning up as we are eating. We went at 4pm on a Tuesday no reason to be rushed out. Continuous said thank you and please and the energy was very off and uncomfortable. Will not go back

Utterly disgusting! We got take out here because of all the promising reviews but their all lies! The sushi is worse than Safeway sushi and 3 times the price, tastes like it was frozen for days and then deep fried! The chicken and shrimp also don’t taste fresh. We don’t recommend this place at all. The rice is so sticky and gross!

The food was great. A minor complaint is too much dressing on the salad, but I guess it’s better than not enough dressing.
I would also serve the 2 orders together, instead of one right away and the other 15 minutes later. Again, minor issues compared with the quality of the food.

I’m astonished at the good reviews!! I’ve lived in at least 15 states in my 36 years on the planet. So far California has had the worst sushi. This Worst Place BY FAR!! Price gouging (I worked at a sushi restaurant in Salt Lake City. Land locked city in Utah. We got fresh fish every other day. Not frozen. Prices NEVER change by season. Lies. Get a new fish vendor if you guys can’t hack it). The fish will be my complaint. And the price for garbage fish. There are other customer service issues but whatever. Find out if you dare.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for so long! Discovery Bay Matsuyama has amazingly fresh cuts of fish. Definitely the best in the area! They are generous with portion sizes and the cost is very reasonable for such good fish. I only order to-go, but it’s always speedy and they are always genuinely thankful and kind. We always get the sashimi deluxe and one or two rolls, which is plenty for a party of two. I highly recommend this to any real sushi lover. They get busy on Fridays and Saturdays, so order accordingly!
