Their burger has all the hallmarks of a great one.
– Cheeseburger – $14: High quality and all the hallmarks of a great burger. It is a special treat of a burger.
The patties were between a sixth and eighth pound patties and seasoned very well. The cheese was melted just right! It was gooey and delicious! The toppings were spot on and the shredded lettuce was a great texture. The bun was toasted, The burger did fall apart a bit and was a bit messy.
– Fries – (comes with burger): VERY salty, but there are a TON of them. They are medium to small cut and cooked right. They are a bit on the lighter side in color, but tastes darker (oddly). They are fresh cut and it shows with the skins still showing on some of the fries. There is not a ton of skin, though, and it is not too much of a texture change if you are turned off by that.
– Service: They mean business and get it right. It took about 10 minutes to get my burger and it was done exactly to order.
– Atmosphere: Has the feel of a butcher’s market, but rest assured, they serve food like a restaurant. You take your food and eat at a table in the common area shared with many of the other restaurants, though. It has the feel of class and is quite trendy there.
– Conclusion: If you like a special treat, this is a great burger done right.

Such friendly, kind & knowledgeable staff, great quality selection of meats, seafood & some salads–along with their sandwich menu. I had the wolf which had bacon, ham, pulled pork, Swiss cheese & barbecue sauce, hot on a bun. I just did not get it with the coleslaw on it. It was seriously 1 of the best sandwiches I have EVER had & i travel alot. It was so good, flavorful, hearty portion & yummy fries, as well. I can’t recommend this place enough! You’re missing out if you don’t go here & I can’t wait to go back, seriously amazing. Keep up the great work guys! So proud & appreciative, from a new & soon to be “regular” customer ♥️

This is one of if not the best burger in grand rapids. The beef is nicely cooked and perfectly seasoned and everything is very well balanced. I’ve been several times and it’s constantly a great burger. My wife had the spicy Poboy from fish lads and it was incredible as well. The fish was very good quality. We always have a good experience here.

Let’s begin with, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger. The burger was cooked to perfection and topped well and overall a delight. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with slaw and Mayo on the side. Took my first bite and I could barely bite through the chicken. Granted, the chicken breast was thin but super dry and tough (over cooked for sure). I took the sandwich back to them and asked “is this how all the chicken breast are cooked?” The guy said “yes” I said “but it’s so dry” he said “did you put everything on there?” Asking about the Mayo and the slaw. So I thought to myself in order to enjoy this chicken sandwich it has to be drenched in other condiments? It’s really unfortunate because I was looking forward to enjoying the food. I gave it another bite just in case but it was all the same. Needless to say it was a waste. The chicken breast should be thrown in the trash and Carver’s should stick to the beef!

Really good Italian beef sandwiches. We got talked into getting the smoked salmon jerky. It was mouth watering. Fun little spot friendly staff and a huge selection of high end meats and seafoods. I will definitely go back if I am in town again.

Phenomenal burgers! Was recommended to try here and I’m glad I did. It’s located inside downtown market and has an extraordinary variety of high quality meats and such, including snake river meats (like American Kobe beef).
Me and my friend ordered a couple of amazing burgers and they were fire! The fries were crispy and clean tasting, the burger was fresh and had phenomenal toppings with what tasted like an aioli on it, and the ketchup was real organic ketchup, rather than the generic store stuff.
Overall felt great having this burger and would go back.

I’m in search of the perfect Ruben and the one down here at carvers absolutely amazing . It’s definitely in my top 5 . From the crispy and buttery toast that caresses the sweet and supple corned beef to the sweet and tangy thousand island dressing dripping out the side of the sandwich and on to the corner of your mouth. It’s an wonderful experience for your mouth .

I wish I could give it lower stars; where do I begin… the kitchen cook(white guy with the bottle cap hat turned backwards) is a the true definition of an A. Wipe, very rude, and disrespectful disgusting person, I waited five minutes while he was looking dead at me, after the fifth minute I asked very kindly can I order please he reply’s “YOU CAN WAIT!!”, only for his associate(cashier) to come and intervene to take our order, then the kitchen staff shorted all of our sandwiches on meat, and fries! SAVE YOUR MONEY, find a better place to spend $66. For 3 short changed sandwiches. With better customer experience and service! Personally think they should fire the kitchen staff and find a nicer cook, cashier guy was kool and nice. Don’t know if I’ll ever be back but I will be spreading the word, seeing as I have a crazy following on our YouTube and Google reviews. Also if you want a great experience walk back five steps to the seafood counter they’ll really appreciate your hard earned money with a smile & delicious food , I’ll update with there name later, it literally right before this sad place. And to think this place says the best meat in GR, that’s a joke considering the kitchen staff cooking the meat smh !

I got the steak sandwich, and it was divine! The Kobe beef was tender and juicy and paired perfectly with the mushroom+onions, provolone, and horsey sauce. The fries were delicious as well. They were seasoned well and stayed crispy to the the last one! This meal was definitely worth its price.

One of the many great spots in the Downtown Market. As a meat counter they really have some amazing cuts of local raised meat. They also have a great menu of fantastic sandwiches and dogs. I tried the Kobe Beef dogs and they may have been the best dog I’ve ever had. I only left one star off because seating can be a challenge if the market is pretty busy.
