Reviews
We were traveling through the area and googled restaurants on Jackson & this place came up.
So glad it did!
Other than the guy running trivia who seemed very concerned about us arriving 30 minutes before close, everything was great.
Some of the best Phô I’ve eaten since being in Vietnam!
We’ll gladly stop again on our way through.
Plus The vegan options : the tofu roll and pho vegan, were superb.,. Highly recommend!
I ordered the Spring Rolls w/peanut sauce and it was terrible. I didn’t think those could actually be messed up, but here we are. The rice paper was so dried out that I physically couldn’t eat it. It would not chew through. Though there are many ways to prepare these delicious little rolls…there is nothing appealing about huge chucks of vegetables inside of them. They should be julienned so they are easy to bite through. The noodles were gummy and had a very unpleasant texture. The worst part of the experience was the peanut sauce. Ironically, that’s usually the BEST part of spring rolls. Instead of being a creamy little bowl of deliciousness it was a thick, pasty, reddish color of a concoction that tasted nothing like peanut sauce. It was just gross. The spring rolls were the biggest disappointment to me as I usually have to travel to Columbus to get them and I was looking forward to having a place local to order them. That’s just not going to happen.
As far as the meatball pho, it was semi-decent but not spectacular. The pho broth needed more seasoning and was bland. The noodles are not the traditional noodles so they also turned gummy in the broth. The meatballs were the same that I’ve always gotten and they were fine.
Overall, a sad disappointment but I am going to give them one more shot. I’ve read that they do bake their bread fresh for their bahm mi sandwiches so I’ll swing in and grab one. I’ll update this review at that time.
For now, $23 for one order spring rolls, one soup, and one drink. Definitely not worth it. They are still new so there is room for improvement…I’m hoping they can fix the problems and give Jackson a really great restaurant as diversity is definitely what we are missing.
The pho they serve is excellent and every bit as good as any big city pho.
The server was knowledgeable and friendly and the service was fast and accurate.
There’s many varieties of boba.
There is a pretzel menu!
There are some classic American and Chinese dishes available as well.
I can’t wait to visit Jackson and this restaurant again.
