Tried Hungry Sumo for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was flavorful and fresh. The steak stood out the most. Super tender and perfectly cooked, definitely outshined the chicken for me. Overall, a solid experience and I’ll definitely be back for more!

We went here and let me tell you…this food takes a bit to be ready but SOOOO worth it. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak spring rolls, crab Rangoons, a plate of the shrimp noodles and a order of the rice and shrimp. I will be coming the staff was really nice and friendly. Everything was affordable and you get a great portion of food. Highly recommend.

The nicest Malaysian couple owns this hidden gem. It’s a little underwhelming to look at, but the food is banging.
Hibachi: Yes, please . Had the Chicken and Steak Teriyaki with a side of Scallops. Steak was seasoned and cooked medium well. Chicken was tender and juicy. Scallops were tender and not overcooked.
Dumplings: Chicken Dumplings, aka pot-stickers, aka goyza, were fried crispy but tender and tasty on the inside.
There is seating to eat in, but hardly no parking. What parking there is is paid, restricted, or straight-up confusing.
Pros: Food, owners, prices
Cons: Parking. Knoxville has the worst parking because everyone is always charging something.

We ordered this to-go as my husband works nearby. We did the three protein hibachi and noodles, as well as the crab ragoons. All meats were amazing. The steak was tender and juicy, the chicken was as well. The shrimp were huge and flavorful. We enjoyed it all and will definitely be back. The crab ragoons were crispy and thin. The only critique I could muster is I wish they had a bit more filling. Will be back!

Service was fast for food.cooked to order. Appetizers were hot and crispy and my daughter said her soup was hot and savory. Looks very popular with the local residents. Parking can be difficult during school hours or busy hours of the day. They serve boba and milk teas. Staff was friendly and helpful with selections. Will return!

None of the food was… good. It was a to go order so maybe they just screwed me over because I wouldn’t see it in person, but it was genuinely inedible. And i’ve eaten boiled chicken with salt and pepper. The pork belly wasn’t chashu, it was dry, it had broccoli, the broth had no flavor, and the noodles were… udon noodles? Genuinely the worst ramen i’ve ever had in Knox. Maybe it’s just that they aren’t very good, and their other food is great. I’ve heard great things about the place but that was just unacceptable for the price.

Absolutely wonderful! We were traveling through Knoxville and I wanted some Asian food in a quaint little spot. I also had specific flavor notes in mind (teriyaki, but with NOODLES) and they were very accommodating. The chicken was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of sauce. Portions are very generous. Definitely worth the price!

Big fan of the teriyaki tofu and this canned Chinese tea they have in the fridge currently. The owner and employees are also super nice! Great go-to spot after classes some days

Some of the best hibachi that I have had in Knoxville!! Bubble tea is also delicious. They give a large portion of food which is also great. The couple that run the restaurant are so sweet. Small family-owned vibes. My partner also got the katsu curry and he loved it. We highly recommend!!
