We recently had a delightful afternoon in Gloucester, starting with lunch at 51 Rocky Neck. We were seated on the deck overlooking the inlet of the harbor with awesome views.

The “lahbstuh” roll was pricey but worth it – the biggest chunks of meat I had ever seen and of course fresh off the boats. One of our party had the smash burger and raved about. The chopped salad was heavy on the garbanzo beans but fresh and tasty. We shared an appetizer of the ribs, which were not done in the traditional barbecue sauce style – in fact they had no sauce at all. They were good but the flavor was a little too understated for my taste.

I saw a big glass container on the bar with pineapple rings immersed in liquid and decided I had to try what they call the Stoli Doli – that could become habit forming!

After lunch we walked down the ramp to their Pier, where the local tour boat/water taxi stops throughout the day. I definitely recommend checking that out – lots of interesting facts and history and the captain is a character! It stops in two other places, and you can get on and off to check out the other parts of the city.

After we got back to the pier, we spent some time perusing the shops in the artist colony and even met one of the artists whose artwork is displayed at 51 Rocky Neck. We stopped back in to the restaurant for drinks – it was a hot day and we really enjoyed the cross breeze through the open windows. We ended up staying for dinner. The pizza appetizer was more than enough for the four of us and was delicious. After seeing the portions at lunch my partner and I decided to share an entree and had the best scallops we’ve ever eaten! They came with a side of spaghetti squash, which was prepared differently than I had ever had it but it was really good.

Overall this was a great dining experience. The staff was very friendly, the decor is inviting and the menu is full of yummy sounding dishes that we can’t wait to try the next time we come!

We had a fantastic dining experience at 51 Rocky Neck in Gloucester!

The atmosphere is charming with a nautical theme that sets the perfect seaside vibe. The food was a standout–tried the breaded fish with a lemony sauce, garnished with pearl onions and peppers, and it was perfectly cooked with a delightful flavor.
The lamb chops with roasted Brussels sprouts and sides of applesauce and creamy dip were tender and delicious, and the calamari appetizer was crispy and well-seasoned. The portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful.

A highlight was Chef Luis Cuin coming out to greet us, adding a personal touch to the meal. The food was served in a timely fashion, and the service was friendly and attentive. The menu offers a nice variety, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend for a special night out or a tasty seafood meal by the coast!

Nice good outdoor door and indoor spot on the water. Service is good and food tasty but not excellent. This is a great spot to hang out and drink some beers and cocktail but they should improve the food quality and presentation. The tuna was cooked correctly but has not much flavor that technically should be done by the soia sauce. Unfortunately the soia sauce was too watery. The rice was over cooked and the veggies didn’t taste of anything.

Five stars in every category! We had lunch on the deck after arriving by boat and the food is unique and special. You have to try the Tres Leche desert. It is to die for! It’s now our favorite Gloucester restaurant.

We discovered this gem of a restaurant on day 4 of its opening. The staff were extremely friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a great table and weren’t rushed. The entire afternoon was such a lovely experience. We also enjoyed a great Australian Red . We arrived on our tender and tied up to their dinghy wharf. We definitely recommend

We had an amazing lunch on the deck! Food was fabulous! & our waiter, Spencer was knowledgeable and attentive. Inside has great decor but it was a beautiful fall day on the harbor. Cocktails were also delightful! I definitely recommend 51 Rocky Neck. We’d be regulars if we lived closer.
