Calabrese pizza was excellent. This one was the least charred, but still had a good crispy crust. Solid sauce, nice kick from the Calabrian chilis, and enjoyed the sausage and pepperoni.
White Clam Pizza was definitely something to try once just to say I did – it was an experience for sure. Salty from the clams, but not too unpleasant. Since it doesn’t have any sauce, the texture ends up being a lot more crisp than the tomato sauced-pizzas. I actually enjoyed the difference. Garlic and oregano were nice touches, but still overwhelmingly tasted of clams. Would’ve been a lot better with some bacon to add another strong flavor.
Quattro Formaggio pizza was very good. Wasn’t sure how the blend of mozzarella, Asiago, and Pecorino Romano would go with the goat cheese, but it worked well along with the tomatoes and basil.
This place always had a line, so keep extra time for the wait-time when visiting. Since it was our first time, we weren’t aware of it, and when we reached there was already a line with a wait time of ~30mins. So we decided to place an online order, and the staff was very kind to push up our order since we had a train to catch soon. Not just the pizza is amazing.. the staff there is also super friendly and helpful!
Next time when you visit New Haven, make sure to stop by and try these pizza, if you haven’t already
The takeout process was seamless and everything was ready without any issues. I went during an off time so traffic and crowds may vary, but either way this is easily in my top 10 pizzas I have ever had. Truly a top notch experience.
The crust was great – undercarriage was very well cooked, loved the slightly uneven char around the perimeter.
The mozz melted well, they put a good amount on but too much so it didn’t drown out the flavor of the sauce and crust. Pecorino romano was great.
Sauce was the highlight of the pie – it had a very sweet tasting notes and was light and simple.
Awesome pie! was very glad I tried and definitely made the top 5 list for me. Wish there was a New-Haven style pizzeria in Utah!
So, I was not blown away by NH pizza at this point.
