Food was excellent. Great flavours. Love food served on hot plates. Staff were friendly, a bit reserved. Nice ambience albeit none else was there. Very reasonable prices.

I had high hopes walking into Marco’s New York Italian, but unfortunately, the meal fell flat at every course.

We started with what can only be described as the driest focaccia imaginable. Despite its decent appearance, the bread was stiff and bland, lacking the fluffy, aromatic quality you’d expect from something billed as a starter. The herbs on top didn’t add much, and the texture suggested it had been sitting out for a while — stale and uninspired.

The main course, a steak, was no better. Visually, it looked underwhelming — pale and oddly rubbery with barely any sear or seasoning. It arrived lukewarm, with an unappetizing sheen that didn’t scream freshly grilled. A few wilted greens and some overcooked fries (soggy on the inside, chewy on the outside) rounded out the plate.

As for the cheesy green beans, they looked like they were drowned in an overly thick, gloopy sauce that overwhelmed the vegetables. The cheese was clumped rather than melted evenly, leaving the whole dish heavy and unbalanced. It felt more like a bad cafeteria attempt than anything resembling Italian comfort food.

Overall, Marco’s New York Italian missed the mark entirely. With bland flavors, lazy presentation, and lackluster quality, this meal didn’t come close to the standards expected — especially considering the prices. Definitely wouldn’t return or recommend.

Highly recommend dining here, the food and service were amazing, I had the grilled swordfish which was cooked to perfection. Our server Zoli could not have been more helpful, he was lovely and friendly and described the dishes we were unsure of.
Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Came here today for afternoon tea and it didn’t disappoint. Really good service from start to end, staff are welcoming and friendly. (Waiter was Eoli)

Food was lovely and plenty of it, we couldn’t eat it all but was able to take remaining cakes home. Tasty hot drinks and glass of fizz.

Clean and calming environment, didn’t feel rushed and was even asked if we wanted any more drinks which was nice.

Nice big car park out the back too.

Had a tough journey, but the staff turned things around for me! They set me up with a lovely table and greeted me with warm wishes for my birthday, plus a complimentary glass of champagne—such a nice touch! The food was spot on; the calamari was crispy and generous, and the surf & turf steak was perfectly cooked. I can’t wait to return tomorrow night with my friends! The atmosphere was great, and the service was top-notch.

Had a great dinner experience with the family. Was a group of 16 but Alessandra and Kaityln ensured everything came out on time and all our requests for food and drinks were looked after promptly. Everyone enjoyed their starters and main dishes. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Had dinner here a couple of times as part of my stay with the Great Western. The meals are expensive for what you get however they are good. The lasagne was lovely but £16 just for lasagne and then having to pay for a side of chips (£3.50) is a bit much. The price for pizza which was really good was absolutely fine. Had a side of onion rings with pizza and they were soggy and greasy.

The buffet breakfast was pretty decent.

I would not dine here willingly as stated I only ate here due to staying at the hotel as part of a business trip.

Excellent food (fresh calamari which was tender and tasty) friendly service, although I was not asked which gin I wanted for my G&T and was given an expensive one which I didn’t like, and service charge automatically added to bill. Background music is also not apt and tinny, which is a shame, and it would be so nice to have some free bread whilst waiting for your starters.
