The Log Den is a log cabin-style restaurant and event facility in Door County, WI. It was designed and constructed by the Lautenbach family, who owns and operates it to this day. Between dairy farming, crop farming, logging, and construction, it took roughly ten years to complete. The Log Den has been serving the Door County community since 2007. It is the perfect location for weddings, rehearsal dinners, business meetings, parties, and fireplace dining

I never leave bad reviews, I’m making an exception for this place. I frequent Door County, I’ve never experienced anything like this in the area or anywhere else.
A group of my friends and myself took a winter Door County Trolley tour, this place was the stop for lunch. We had an extremely negative experience with the owner of this establishment. He was extremely aggressive towards my group of friends (all women). He got multiple orders wrong and instead of being courteous about it he rolled his eyes and snatched the plates off of the table. Then when bringing one of our drinks to the table, he very loudly said “if all of you could stop talking with your hands then I could actually tell which of you got this drink” scolding us in a very loud aggressive tone. The food was mediocre at best. My advice to door county trolley is to stop doing business with this place immediately. My advice to anyone wanting to come here, do not support this business. There are many other family owned establishments in the area who are deserving of your business. I do not care if it’s someone having a bad day or what the excuse is working in customer service, being a small business owner you need to do better. Especially when you have a group of young people who frequent the area willing to spend large amounts of money at small businesses you could’ve made customers for life.

This is a very cool log cabin atmosphere with amazing details in construction. Worth the visit just to enjoy the atmosphere. We did not eat because we were headed to Fish Creek for the evening, but it was a great stop with a yummy cocktail.

We were looking for a place to dine on a lazy Sunday afternoon near Egg Harbor in Door County, WI. What we found was a wonderful family owned restaurant with attentive service and delicious food.
When pulling into the parking lot you are greeted with a stunning log cabin set back from the road, surrounded by trees and beautiful vistas of nature. There are carved wood animals and beautiful architectural features all around. The main entrance is framed with two tall carved bears that greet you and the main doors have wood carvings of deer in the forest. That is just the beginning…. The inside of this restaurant is filled with a plethora of beautiful architectural details. Now onto the food.
Exceptional is the best word to describe it. The salad bar is stocked with fresh veggies and greens. The chili (with beans) is one of the best I have ever tasted. I had the ribs, the meat fell off the bones and was still juicy and tender. The side of vegetables was seasoned just right and well cooked, but still crisp. My fiance had Chicken Diane, she said the sauce was smooth and flavorful.The chicken melted in her mouth.
Our server Cody was very attentive, he kept our water glasses topped off and checked in on us just the right amount of time. We finished off the meal with Door County Cherry Pie with homemade whipped cream. Mmm, Mmm good! You must stop here if you are in Door County, you will not be disappointed.

We are not usually reviewers, but our experience was so wonderful we agreed to write a review. RUN DON’T WALK to The Log Den! We went again for Brunch, and EVERYTHING was delicious! From the soup & salad bar to the entrees to the lovely dessert bar, was scratch made, fresh and SO SATISFYING! Great food, fantastic service & one of the best locations in Door!

Husband and I were recommended Log Den as we were planning a little anniversary trip. This place does not disappoint! Huge portions and absolutely divine! The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Seriously, ignore the “road closed” signs from the construction and make it out here; it’s so worth! I’ve been dreaming of my prime sandwich and lemon meringue martini since finishing them!

Enjoyed the lavish Sunday brunch buffet and the extraordinary beauty of the Log Den building itself, with its clever woodland ani.als carved right the logs. Service was excellent. We were surprised that the price had gone up to $30 apiece, but it is worth it!

Absolutely thrilled with our experience at this fantastic restaurant! The atmosphere is unparalleled, and the architecture is simply amazing. Our visit, courtesy of a trolley tour, was a delightful surprise as we practically had the place to ourselves. The family-friendly vibe made it feel like a warm Thanksgiving gathering at Mom’s. The bearded gentleman overseeing our experience went above and beyond to ensure everyone was happy, reminiscent of my uncle’s genuine hospitality. The fish sandwich was a taste sensation—utterly delightful! Without a doubt, I highly recommend checking out this gem of a place.

We went there for a murder mystery dinner experience. Very nice. The Log Den is just what you would expect in upper Wisconsin. This building is beautiful with interesting carvings on the outer log walls and doors. The inside of the restaurant is just as impressive with a touch of whismy.
The service was nice but a little confused. Nobody really seemed to be sure how to handle this unusual event between billing, seating, and overall planning. In the end, they figured it out, and all went well.
The food was mainly a buffet with different types of salads, a number of various entrees, and side dishes.
Nothing special, but all were delicious.
Overall, the night was a good time and would do it again.
