I wish I could do 4.5 stars but since it’s not an option they more 5 than 4.
Ordered Out of control roll, golden bear roll and both looked awesome and tasted wonderful, lion king roll was good but didn’t look as cool as other rolls. Teriyaki salmon plate was cooked well and everything else that part of that combo was good but salad )
Goods: food looks great, food taste great, friendly staff and nice clean interior.
Improvements needed: salad that comes with meal is laughable size lol like just few leaf of greens .
Little pricey but I guess everything getting more expensive now.

I’ve been coming here for a few years and I have never had a bad experience. Food is very fresh, generous, and I love that the rice is always a little warm. Their salad dressing is good too. My go-to for bento lunch box.

This is an excellent, brand new Japanese restaurant.
In terms of food, everything we had was fantastic. Excellent ramen, excellent sushi, excellent sashimi. Good sake too. They have an expansive sushi menu and good choices of other entrees, although I was a bit sad to not see curry on the menu. They also have some good authentic sake and beer options.
The venue and service were good as well. Staff were chatty and friendly, we liked them.
In terms of price, my feelings were a bit mixed. I thought the ramen was excellent in terms of cost for value. The sushi I thought was higher quality than other options in petaluma, but also kind of expensive comparably. We were also a little annoyed at having to pay 2.50 for Miso.
Our go-to sushi place in Petaluma is sushi paradise, and I found myself comparing the two. Cost wise, our bills ended up being about the same. While at sushi paradise we would have eaten twice as much food, the overall quality here was higher.
So my recommendation would be, if you want the all you can eat experience, sushi paradise still provides the best value for money, but if you want less sushi at higher quality, Oyama is great. I think they’ll also probably be great for ramen as well.
We definitely want to go back again. Also during lunch, I want to try that bento special.

Fast and great service! (From ordering to-go at the cashier, watching the chef preparing the sashimi and sushi, to packing everything, it took less than 10 mins)!!!
The fish is super fresh!!! The chef’s choice of sashimi and sushi is awesome!!! A great variety of combinations (yummy sushi nicely made).
Highly recommend it! Would love to come back if we ever drive past this town on 101!

I will never come back here. I can’t stand a deceptive place. I came in today Monday march 23. I came in at 8:45.
The woman working tonight told me that they close at 9:15. And implied that I should get something to go instead of sit down and eat. I am by myself.
I would’ve maybe taken 20 minutes to eat. I’ve been wanting to try this place and I drove 20 minutes to get here.
I don’t like being lied to. The hours are on the door. They’re supposed to close at 9:30.

My friend and I dropped in for lunch and enjoyed the well prepared food. He had the chicken teriyaki while I was happy with my bento box. I will come back the next time I’m in Petaluma.

I came here for lunch today and I was very pleased. They have a wonderful lunch menu. I ordered the roll lunch special which came with miso soup, a rainbow roll and one other roll (you can choose from 4 options). The service was fast and the waiters were very attentive. I would definitely recommend for a quick lunch option.

The sushi is very good. This is our second visit and the quality is consistent. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great food in a relaxed atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable. The menu has options for kids. Dishes we highly recommend: toro, hamachi, crunchy roll, poki roll.
