Nice place, with an awesome waitress that helped the perfect amount. Food was good, not extravagant but still good. The potions were much larger than I anticipated. Each thing you get comes on a big plat filled by itself. Would be a great family style meal.

Great food huge portions! Our kids enjoyed the orange chicken- crispy and light batter! I was impressed. We ordered Hong Kong chowmein with crispy noodles. The eggplant was also delicious and she asked us how spicy we wanted it. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Lots of natural light, and service was good. We would come here again!

Excellent food! The owners are super friendly and the son has a great sense of humor. Best Chinese in Santa Cruz. We brought Chinese friends who loved it. Restaurant is small so best to reserve a table in advance.

I always make the extra effort to stop by here whenever I’m in the area. fresh and delicious every time. definitely recommended. seems the owners are focusing on to-go orders right now. overall, a real friendly and welcoming family restaurant.

Take out, Mongolian beef, chicken broccoli, fried and white rice, wonton soup.
Mongolian beef had a little spice but none of the flavor Mon beef is known for. There were huge slabs of ham in the wonton soup in addition to an almost flavorless broth. Ham…
The broc chix was similarly bland and unremarkable. Both the fried and the white rice wasn’t fresh.
In my top 5 least enjoyable Chinese food meals.

We ordered takeout while staying at SeaScape. The food arrived quickly and most of the food was good. I especially liked the hot and sour soup and Singapore noodles

The meats we ordered (hunan beef and sesame chicken) were extremely sweet and hard to identify. We actually called thinking they had sent us the wrong food, but they drove back out to explain it to us.

Ordered online 3 hours in advance, showed up to get the food when we requested, then waited for an hour. The food was okay.

We wanted Chinese Food while staying at the Seascape Resort. This small, husband (Chef), wife (everything else) was a find and went back two days in a row. Great Chinese food, like pizza, must be Awesome when freshly cooked and then on warming up later! This place truly checked off those two qualties. Met a patron who has been coming to this place 15 years on our first visit (both time we had take out). He could not say enough beautiful platitudes about this couple and the food! We must agree and will be back when visiting again! The restaurant itself is nothing fancy in the least. The owners and Food sdo All the apeaking!

Overall we didn’t love our experience at Hong Kong Garden. The chow main was quite solid, with a good flavor and texture.

The other items we ordered were quite disappointing. The char siu bao had a strange flavor to it, maybe dark soy sauce? Something really stood out as not quite right with the dish.

And the sesame chicken was very, very sweet, which we didn’t expect. It was almost candied chicken, which really didn’t quite work.
