Natalee Is Awesome!
My mom recently stopped into a Rita’s and was delighted with her a chocolate custard cone dipped in chocolate ….And while the custard itself was beyond a delicious treat, it was actually the kindness and warmth of the young lady behind the counter which prompted this review. As my mother is a senior citizen who certainly doesn’t make a habit of frequenting ice cream or frozen custard shops and although she didn’t necessarily have any expectations regarding this particular visit, Natalee, the young woman who helped her somehow managed to turn a quick treat into a warm memory. Consequently, it was my mother who insisted I write this review after sharing her experience with me in detail.
With that said, my mom explained that whilst milling about the Meadow Creek Shopping Center in Westminster she was practically invited into Rita’s and greeted with a giant smile upon her arrival, which happened to be right around noon as the shop opened for business on an unseasonably warm Tuesday afternoon in April. Impressed by the store’s cleanliness and extensive list of options, my mom ultimately decided on a soft serve chocolate custard cone, dipped in chocolate with sprinkles. She was tended to immediately by the attentive employee behind the counter who had just moments ago welcomed her into the shop.
After handing my mom the custard filled cone, Natalee took the time to make sure that the treat was to my mom’s satisfaction, ensured that she was comfortably seated while inside the shop and made sure that my mom had enough napkins in order to keep pace with the anticipated melting upon her departure. Moreover, it was Natalee’s personal approach, sweet demeanor and genuine kindness which really stuck out, perhaps as a reminder of the old fashioned neighborliness of a bygone era or maybe just a simple a reminder of how a pleasant a chance encounter with a kind soul can warm the heart.
All said, in this chance encounter, not only did Natalee manage to generate at least two new customers but she also created a lasting image in our minds of how absolutely lovely a random trip to Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard can be!

Usually the service is amazing at this place and it would be an automatic 5 stars.But today my experience was a little Di.There was 2 employees instead of one and when I walked over to pay.I realized that I was being charged for a small gelati and arge gelati. When I reminded them that I got extra custard.She added that on.I was a little confused but didn’t want to be argumentative so
I paid the 14 dollars for a large gelati thst didn’t even have extra custard on it and I left a $5 tip because it’s what I always do.
May have been a mistake. May not have been a mistake but before I could hit print receipt. I didn’t have the option to get a receipt because the girl behind the counter. Hit no receipt for me quicker than I could hit print receipt. I don’t think it’s the girls trying to make extra money.I’ve just never had this issue before and I’ve always had great.

The Meadow Creek Rita’s in Westminster is best Rita’s I’ve ever been to. I have to give credit to the staff especially! We visit just about every Tuesday & Thursday afternoon. Every visit the staff is very welcoming and kind to me and my toddler son (who can be very indecisive on his ice flavor lol) Keep being awesome guys! It’s nice to have good customer service for once !

They have only 2 flavors of custard, chocolate and vanilla (and swirl of the two). Most Rita’s have tons of custard flavors! Also when you do Gelati (an Italian and custard mix not ice with a dollop of custard on top – edited because I DID order Gelati despite what the shop response incorrectly assumed I ordered) it’s supposed to be multiple layers. My cup was all ice with a tiny swirl of custard on top. Will NOT go back. I’ll go to The Cow in Westminster instead from now on. Thought we would try this but it’s overpriced and a waste of money. Also in reply to the shop response, we got these to go, so how can I make your shop staff “aware” of a problem immediately when I only realize the order is wrong once I’m digging down in the cup looking for more custard once I get home to eat it?!

Absolutely amazing and friendly staff. They went out of their way and made my night. I came up to the door 5 minutes before closing and it was locked. That’s typical for a slow day, especially with a business that is usually seasonal, so I wasn’t surprised nor upset. I try not to be ‘that person’ that shows up right before close but I had a particularly stressful day of work and was hoping to (quickly) grab a treat before going home. I stood there for a couple minutes, looking on my phone for another place to get dessert, when an employee came up to the door, unlocked it, and told me that I could still place an order. They didn’t rush me at all and were very kind. Some of the best customer service I’ve experienced.
