Fantastic option for sushi — among the best in the valley. Excellent sashimi/nigiri and roll offerings, but also a unique menu with a ton of cooked entrees and non-fish options.

The vegetable tempura was SO fresh and crispy; definitely worth ordering. Tons of fish on the rainbow roll. The sashimi and nigiri portions were generous and the fish was ultra fresh. (And they serve really good wasabi, including pickled wasabi stems!)

Nice vibe; quiet. You could easily come here for a casual meal or take out, or for a nicer occasion or date.

Very conscientious of dietary restrictions and allergies. They asked when we arrived and wrote it on our order sheet.

Everything about the experience was amazing. From the service, where everyone helps out, to the food, which had an amazing fuji apple cream puff pie dessert. I loved spending my dinner here with my wife. It was perfect.

My partner and I became regulars here and consider it our favorite spot in Phoenix. The food is fresh, delicious, and fast. You can watch the chefs working hard making everything and taking care to note any allergies and needs. The service is amazing. A host will seat you promptly or put you on a list. The servers check on you regularly and bussers clean up the smallest things as soon as they see them. All the staff always say hello and goodbye to every customer. It has only gotten better over the years.

So interesting experience. Atmosphere was really nice, the sushi was tasty. Problem was the rolls are very small and the rice was quite loose. Also the amount of fish was REALLY small. The sashimi was the thinnest cheapest I have EVER had. So in short be prepared to spend 40% more $$ on your meal of sushi!

Enjoyed this authentic Japanese restaurant on a whim! The service was so great and everyone extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant is casual and can be a good spot for a casual date night, meal in, or friend catch up.

The food was really good and great quality! The Hana Bento Box blew away my expectations – the sashimi melted in your mouth and tasted fresh. The ramen was also good and noodles had a nice chew and broth had good umami flavor. The Sea Bass Sakamushi was good, but only came with 5 pieces (not advertised on menu about pieces) for $25 – so pricey for the quantity.

I dont eat seafood (preference not allergy) so struggle to find options at Japanese restaurants but Hana has a variety of safe options!!! Big sake selection in my opinion and excellent authentic Japanese cuisine. If you have been to Japan like I have, you will be pleased with the cuisine at Hana.

Here’s a little trick to see if a place is authentic Japanese. If they offer one or all of these three dishes:
– Chawanmushi
– Chirashi
– Yamakake
If they offer none of these, unlikely to be authentic
If they offer one of these, good chance they are.
Hana is fairly authentic Japanese and that’s rare indeed. Recommend the Bento and most everything else. They also offer Natto off-menu, as well as Chirashi. Hat’s off to Lynn and crew.

We used to come to this place back when I lived in central Phoenix but it’s been at least 5 years and boy are we glad we made the trek back!! The sushi is SO good and the service is fantastic. Anytime we finished a plate someone was there to remove it. Anytime my water was half empty someone would refill it. It’s great quality food and very friendly service. We will be back to try the Japanese beer and whiskey selection! Definitely recommend checking this place out.

The food was beyond what we expected. Lived in the neighborhood forever, when we were blessed to have our plans changed to go here. Best thing to ever happen. The workers are sweet and accommodating. The atmosphere is fresh and quiet & the food just melts in your mouth definitely have to order the oyster shooters as it brightens your pallet … the only complaint I had is every place I’ve been to the tamago is light and sweet as here there was no sweetness just straight egg but didn’t change my review at all the rest of the food will have you coming back!! ( would love to add photos but for some reason won’t load)

We had the tuna tataki and tempura shrimp roll. Tai nanbazuke, the pork yakibuta and hana an mitsu dessert. Nothing really blew us away. We have had better sushi around the valley. Definitely did not live up to our expectations as one of the best Japanese restaurants around.

The items on the menu were exciting to fantasize about but falls short of delivering. The service was above average. The ambience is nothing special.

Before eating the food we were planning to come back. Now, not so much.
