I enjoyed a traditional curry chicken served with rice and peas, accompanied by a can of coconut water, all for just under $22. I was a bit surprised by the price compared to similar dishes I’ve had in other parts of the country over the past few months—especially since the meal didn’t include the usual plantain and steamed vegetables, which were offered as extras.

On the positive side, the restaurant, open for about a year, features modern technology with three self-ordering screens that make customization easy and precise. Unlike most Jamaican eateries I’ve visited over the years, they were very generous with paper napkins—I received three, which came in handy for cleaning my curry-stained fingers. The restroom was clean and well-maintained, and the restaurant was nicely decorated.

Despite the cost, I enjoyed my first visit and will definitely be returning.

Cute spot! The peas and rice and cabbage were delicious! The Jerk chicken was yummy as well but the sauce wasn’t as spicey as I prefer. Still good but I like the heat in my jerk! The chicken itself was grilled to perfection. Go check them out! We will be back!

Place just opened a week ago. Staff is great! Owner is great! Food is good! Atmosphere is great! I love the fresh juice option. I ordered oxtails, festival, and red pea soup and veggie patty. I didn’t get my red pea soup. Not sure what this is.

Place was smaller than expected, I thought there was a big dining area when I first saw them open but, it’s a very efficient Caribbean restaurant with 3 tablets available to place orders and, some seating. Service was amazing the 2 young ladies were very professional and, helpful. Not everything was available on the juice menu and the food portions were a smaller than expected (a side of plantain is only 2 pieces). The food tastes good though, I like how they slice the jerk pork but, the crust is missing, that’s the best part in my opinion. Not sure if all the juice is cold pressed because, I had a lot of pulp in my Star Boy even after continuously shaking while drinking. This is a new spot so, I get there are a few kinks to work out. I’ll give them 4 starts because, they are fixable issues. I do feel pricing is a bit high for the portions you’re getting though, our meals should have been priced around $10. This review was just to improve what I feel has great potential. I hope anyone reading this gives them a chance and, writes an honest review as well to give a good Caribbean restaurant a chance to thrive.

I tried this new spot and absolutely loved it! The jerk chicken was amazing, and the red bean soup was delicious. The owner and staff were so pleasant and welcoming. I even sent two friends there the same day, and they loved it just as much. The prices might seem a little higher, but honestly, in today’s time they’re right in line with what you’d pay for a good plate of food, and the quality makes it worth it. Golden Krust can’t compare. Best Jamaican food that’s been in that area in a long time! Highly recommend!

I did not like the service I received there or the food but like their marketing. The portions are very small and served in a protein sized bowl and sides are charged extra. The food looked appealing but the taste was not there for me. It wasn’t as flavorful and exquisite as I thought. I ordered curry chicken, jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantain and beef patties. I was disappointed by the taste. Maybe they are more known for their juices instead. The marketing was what brought me there and I thought I would check them out. Using a kiosk to make orders isn’t bad but seeing a welcoming face is important, too. When I asked for extra sauces or napkins, the person seemed like they didn’t want to give me extras. I prefer to dine at other caribbean restaurants in the area because I received better dining experiences and taste.

Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted right away and made to feel so welcome. Andre and his staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do.

The food was outstanding. I had the oxtail with rice and peas and plantains, and my husband ordered the jerk chicken with the same sides. Everything was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. We also got a side of beef patties, which were delicious.

I’ve been to Jamaica, and this truly took me right back to that trip. The flavors were authentic, rich, and comforting. Highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing food and great service. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I decided to try out this restaurant because it popped up on my IG. We ordered the large bowl with oxtails, plantains, rice and peas, with cabbage. The oxtails were very tough with little to no meat, the plantains were ripe and not sweet. The seasoning used was not flavorful and didn’t give the Caribbean vibe, maybe they needed to add more, not sure where we went wrong with that. I barely got oxtail gravy even though I specifically requested for more to be put on my rice. I have had better at other local restaurants so for this to be one that was promoted on social media I am not impressed at all. I understand this is a new establishment but carrying the name “JahMakin” I expected better. I suggest cooking the food longer, adding more seasoning and gravy might be needed sooner rather than later to keep people coming back.

OK, not from Jamaica but I’m from the eastern Caribbean (small island people as Jamaicans call us, minus Trinidad). I loved the food. I have had the burn my mouth with little flavor jerk chicken before, and yes, while that might be authentic it wasn’t great. The jerk chicken at this place was hot and flavorful, the rice was on point, and the curry was heaven sent. I loved it. So, if you just want great food go here, if you want authentic food that does not taste good go somewhere else. If you’re not West Indian don’t comment on the authenticity of the food, especially if you are not Jamaican. Price is high everywhere, but for the quality, it was worth the dime. Someone mentioned in their review that the food had no flavor and that they had to use hot sauce. If hot sauce is your idea of flavoring food then somethings wrong with your taste buds.
