Food: Never thought we’d be able to find such authentic Korean food here! Everything we ordered is good and definitely well seasoned as it should be like in Korea.
We’re a bit confused when we’re ordering the spicy pork. They have 2 options on the menu, one with rice and one without. There wasn’t further confirmation so we ended up getting one with rice but still works for us.

Service: they are so warm and welcoming!

Ambiance: it’s a small restaurant but very clean and nice.

Was around the San Francisco outlet and came across this Korean restaurant for late lunch. Loved their seafood pancake to the max. Ja Jang mian tasted great too, their signature dish it seems. Fried chicken was good, probably more attuned to local taste aka it was a little too salty to my taste bud.

Being Korean, 짜장면 and 떡볶이 are my soul foods and the food I ate here did not disappoint. I would actually vote top1 place for tteokbokki in the bay area. I actually prefer 떡볶이 here to what I get back in Korea during my visit. Everything else I ate was good too, but the 떡볶이.. oh man. I want to go back for seconds already. I’m leaving this review for myself so that I’ll come back to this place whenever I have the chance.(Living in the peninsula, I need a good excuse to cross the bridge)
Everyone was super kind and the place was clean and bright. My boys enjoyed this place so much, they are expecting another trip to east bay just to visit here on the way.
If you want authentic Korean food, I’d strongly recommend here.

It was okay. Not fantastic, not great, just average. The AC wasn’t on when we arrived. It was in the 90s today. I was sweating like crazy in the restaurant. Not a good atmosphere. The food was okay. We got the Liang Zhang Pi, which is a cold noodle dish and the Ja Jang Noodles, it’s the Korean take on a Taiwanese dish. The Ja Jang was different, with the black sauce filled with vegetables and was slightly sweet. The Liang Zhang Pi was just okay. We weren’t too impressed with it. Service was good. I’m assuming that between the AC not working and our food not being as good as we thought, we weren’t impressed by it. Honestly, probably won’t be back.

Excellent appetizers here. One of the better food options near the Livermore outlets.

Garlic Fried Chicken
Grade: A-
Crispy thick battered chicken with a sweet and savory garlicky glaze. Done surprisingly well for a noodle shop
———-
Ja Jang Noodle
Grade: C+
Noodles have a nice gummy chewy consistency. The sauce was a bit heavier on the onions and lighter on meat and fresh cucumbers. Wish there was a bit more cucumbers and maybe some green onions?
———-
Fish Cake Soup
Grade: C
Pretty standard fish cake soup with a light kick from the jalapenos. Would like a bit more kick of pepper maybe?
———-
Seafood Pancake
Grade: A-
The other star of the night. Had good flavor and good amount of toppings. Great balance of crisp edges and chewy interior.

Their food is a mix of Korean and Chinese. We ended up ordering the Chinese options – salt and pepper beef and shrimp fried rice. Both were good and service was excellent! If we’re in the area, this would definitely be one of our options.

The food here is good, but not the best. It is kind of pricy… The waiter and the waitress are nice and serving the food pretty fast even it was crowded.
The seafood pancake is pretty good that it is not super crunchy compare to other places.
The seafood over rice is just so so. Not sure if it was Sunday that it gets really busy, it tasted like not seasoned properly.
I am not a fan of the ja jang noodle, but my girl said it tastes really good and the portion is big.

This might as well be my favorite jajang eatery! The noodles were truly something unique and different. I’ve definitely have not had it before and so will trust that they made it from scratch. As someone who is gluten sensitive, I know when it’s regular cheap noodles since I get IBS symptoms when I have noodles made with regular bleached American produced flour. The noodles here did not give me any of those symptoms and so it’s either their way of making noodles (together with combination of other types of flour that reduced the gluten) or that they also use non-American flour.

The jajang sauce was tasty. Tried both the regular and the dan jajang. If you like some crunch and partially raw onion, go with jajang noodles. If you prefer cooked onions, then go with dan jajang. Both were good and so either are good choices unless you prefer the less onion-y flavor then go with dan jajang.

The sweet and sour pork was fantastic. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. And the sweet and sour sauce to dip in, it was perfectly made – good combination of sweet and sour! So good!

The restaurant was relatively loud as the night went on as more and more customers came and just before we left, it was a full house! And with multiple customers speaking Korean, you know it’s legit!

They seem short handed but still did their best to maintain good service. What I appreciate seeing was during our meal, a busgirl who seemed new dropped a bowl while cleaning, and the owner checked if she was ok in a gentle tone and even helped clean up. That’s all heart there and that goes to show me a lot of how she runs the business which carries a lot of weight in my opinion.

They serve Korean Chinese cuisine. Dishes are at a decent price. It is a hidden gem in a busy square.

Update 1/14/23:
I went back craving for their Liangzhangpi. This time, I also ordered a seafood pancake. The first pancake came out and looked okay, but I had a slice with NO seafood in there, just full of onions and some carrot and zucchini slices. I spoke to the waitress and showed her the 2 ajacent slices with no seafood inside as well. She then used her chopsticks to check another slice and commented that there was a tiny bit of seafood. That is the problem!! 4 out of 8 slices only have tiny bit seafood in One slice!! She was kind enough to take it back to the kitchen. A few minutes later, a new darker seafood pancake was served. Waitress said the cook measured the seafood to a specific weight for each pancake, so there was no problem with the seafood pancake.

For ~$20 seafood pancake, this is not worthy. Get seafood pancake somewhere else.
