I ordered delivery using UberEats and was very pleased with the experience. Everything arrived at the proper temperature and was well packaged. Portions were generous and I ended up having some leftovers for lunch the next day. The catfish was breaded well and the seasoning was perfect. I have a lot/ hate relationship with collard greens, but I thought I would give theirs a shot and was glad that I did, they were not bitter in the slightest, very soft while maintaining a pleasant bite, and salted just enough to bring out the umami vegetal flavours of the greens. The restaurant lives up to its namesake and the cornbread was delicious, moist and pleasantly sweet without overpowering the lovely, almost floral, flavour of the corn.

I’m so glad they replaced the McDonald’s with this restauant – this black-owned restaurant is serving soul food ten times better than McDonald’s! My husband got fried fish and I got fried chicken. The food was DELICIOUS! The fried chicken is hands down great! I must be honest, the cornbread is good but not the best I have tasted, but it’s good though! They have two self-order computers where you place your order on the computer and the waiter gets the ticket and serves you (dine-in or take out). Their $7.99 combo is a great deal! For once we get to have a nice meal at Walmart!

I understand food rotation. But not adding dried, old rice to fresh. Not worth the money. The workers were also unbelievably slow. The kid working in the back totally ignored alarms letting the girl who was running register to leave the front. No one has “soul” there.

Just finished eating here, got the catfish combo, with cornbread, mac & cheese and cabbage with their Southern Twang drink. The catfish was really good, flaky, but crisp with no fish aftertaste. The cabbage was amazing, I love cabbage! The mac & cheese was ok, I like mines more creamy/cheesier. The cornbread was good, could have been a bit sweeter and lastly the drink was very good, but no refills. I got a chance to sample their yams, and they were good, should have gotten them instead of the mac & cheese. So, I highly recommend this place.

First time trying this place today. I honestly didn’t feel like I paid a lot for what I got. I ordered a chicken combo (one breast and one wing), mac and cheese, cornbread and a piece of the catfish. All of it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! All I was missing was hot sauce (which I forgot to grab). Definitely coming back and it’ll definitely be with my family next time!

The fried catfish was very good along with the mac and cheese. I thought the cornbread was just okay, nothing special. I may go back to try the fried chicken. Staff wasn’t very friendly for being a new restaurant. They need to at least pretend that they like working there! 3.5 stars.

Soooo good! The fried catfish with a little hot sauce was one of the best things I’ve eaten all summer. The fried chicken was perfect and the cornbread, mac and cheese and collards were all exceptional. The staff was friendly and the portions were generous. We stuffed ourselves and our toddler for $30 and had a great time. Will definitely be back. This might be the best soul food in Pittsburgh.

Finally had the opportunity to try the new location at Pittsburgh mills, the food was really good, I had the fried chicken, rice, mac n cheese and cornbread. My problem is ordering off the screen, it takes away from the customer service experience, the workers don’t even say hi, what happened to service with a smile? One guy did come over to the table, I’m guessing he is the manager he was very nice, the people serving the food should be trained to speak to the guest, because that to me is just as important as the food.

I had never eaten here before, but after shopping I was hungry. The Manager Sonya was amazing. She gave me a visual of everything on the menu adding in it was the Best ever. She was not lying! I had the catfish, chicken, cabbage, mac n cheese, and of Course the Cornbread. Everything was fire and for the price I got more than enough. Oh yeah the Southern Twang drink was the BOMB! I will be back and coming with the family!!
