After living in Texas for 16 years, today we finally found the real deal right here at Don Juan Mexican Restaurant on 5 Mile!
First off, they brought out fresh, warm chips without us even having to ask, an absolute must in Texas, plus our own individual salsa. Then the margaritas arrived and WOW. So good, and they definitely did not skimp on the tequila.
The menu is packed, I am talking six pages of authentic dishes, and I saw so many of my favorites that I have not been able to find since leaving Texas.
And the desserts were over the top, authentic Mexican desserts that totally hit the spot.
The place itself is absolutely beautiful and looks so upscale. The atmosphere makes it perfect for a date night, family dinner, or even just drinks with friends. And honestly, the prices were not expensive at all, especially for the quality and portion sizes.
Bottom line, you need to go ASAP and support this amazing new place. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. LOVE LOVE LOVE. We will be going weekly.

We are so excited to see this restaurant finally open! We placed a big order for takeout and had excellent communication from the restaurant about estimated wait time and then received a text — early! — when our food was ready. Everything was correct and flavorful. Amazing food. My dad picked it up and said there’s a really nice bar inside! We are excited to come back and dine in, but enjoyed our takeout. From burritos to quesadillas to fajitas to chile relleno to taquitos, everything was perfect and flavorful. PS: you get chips and salsa with your carryout which I appreciated! PPS: order the tomatillo sauce, it’s delicious!
