Best Carolina gold sauce on Columbus. Try the bee sting sauce. It’s too good!! I also got the coney fries. Thick crispy fries, crunchy wings, and great service. They have a special almost every day of the week. Wednesday’s wings are $1!

The owners are obviously very hard working and were so nice to us. We’ve only been once, but we’ll be making this place a regular spot. We love wings and they have knocked it out of the park with theirs. They’re large, meaty and deep-fried to perfection. And the sauces… swoon worthy!!! I had the cherry BBQ and the Bee Sting, which is honey-based with lemon pepper. I want to eat that every day! My partner had BBQ and Buffalo and they were delicious too.
It’s inside an AmVets, which was neat, clean and peaceful. Everyone was nice, and the owners of the restaurant deserve to go far. We got the story of where the Mean Mugs name came from, and it’s adorable. Don’t hesitate to go!

The owner (in the picture with me, guy in the leather jacket) and his wife make all the wing sauces in house, and they are great! Big wings, hand breaded onion rings. It is located inside the Vet center, so either ring the doorbell on the fence outside to get in, or order it to go. Super friendly.

I thought I already reviewed this place but I will again. Just amazing. I know wings and these are top of the metro. Super friendly service, almost too many flavors but each is different and unique from anywhere else. Locally owned and I love using the VFW as home. Members are very accepting and friendly and overall just a great vibe.
Service is great, wings are always huge and hot when served plus the sides are legit. Loaded fries, fries, onion rings, all are unreal. Support local!

Go run and try this fantastic food and experience the greatness of how all this food is worth a try for-sure, the experience was so great I forgot my card because I was still in amazement of the food. They definitely set the bar in Columbus for sauced wings that still have a great bite to them. I just want on 8/15 and will be back today 8/16.

The wings and the sauces and everything are amazing. I got the blue cheese burger tonight and I’d take a picture but it’s already inhaled. I also got orange chicken wings bone in all drums and mean mug signature sauce boneless wings. Both perfectly crispy, perfectly juicy and the sauces are the best. You won’t regret anything.

Tried for the first time on a Friday night. Service was a little lengthy, but you could tell they were slammed. And our server was very nice and kept apologizing for the wait. We had some issues with missing food but it was not a big deal, they made it right & The food was totally worth it! Best wings I have had in Columbus for sure! I had the honey bbq and it was everything I wanted! Wings were big and crispy and perfectly cooked. Homemade ranch was also delicious. It’s inside the AM Vets, but don’t let that deter you! Everyone was super nice and because I love good wings , we will definitely be back. 10/10

We ordered Cajun Dry Rub and the Nashville Peach. Both were excellent, especially paired with their homemade ranch. However our food did not come out at the same time which wasn’t a big deal but we also never received the hand cut fries or the hand battered onion rings that we ordered. The waitress was very nice and seemed to be the only waitress working. She was busy tending to the guest as they came in and seemed to also be working the phone, pickup, and in the back. Hopefully this was just an off day with service. Will be back, hope to try those homemade onion rings soon.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! The wings were absolutely incredible- meaty, crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and packed with flavor. They have so many wing sauces, also offer dry rub, to pick from. Honestly, the best wings my boyfriend and I have ever had.
The atmosphere was a cool vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Service was great and on top of that the owner was so personable and welcoming.
If you are looking for the best wings in Ohio, this is the place. I will definitely be coming back!
