I heard from a friend that Abat Coffee Shop has a unique coffee, so I went to check it out — and it was totally worth it. The place looks nice, and the lady making the coffee was super friendly. She explained that the beans come straight from Ethiopia, and she made me an authentic Ethiopian coffee.

The coffee was rich, smooth, and honestly one of the best I’ve had. It was served in the traditional pot and cup you see in the photo, with popcorn on the side — a cool touch I didn’t expect.

Overall, great vibes, great service, and amazing coffee. Definitely recommend

I’m so grateful to Laura from Little Crystal Bijoux for recommending me Abat Ethiopian Coffee! The food and drinks there are delicious, especially if you’re looking to expand your palette beyond doro wot and injera (I do like both, by the way).

Who could have guessed that Ethiopian cuisine is more diverse than it actually is? I guess that in today’s global society, it should be no surprise that Ethiopian food and culture is what it is. I think that I should do more research on Ethiopian culture. I detect Indian influences in it.

By the way, if you are diabetic and/or are looking to watch your sugar levels, I suggest staying clear of the sugared popcorn that’s served with the coffee. Otherwise, feel free to try whatever tickles your fancy at the shop. I loved the ful dish and the lentil sambusa there for sure.

Ah yes…I definitely should take a fellow out there one day, especially if he likes spicy food.

So yeah, if you’re in Dundalk, please give Abat a try. You WON’T be disappointed. I promise you that.

My friend and I went to for breakfast and it was amazing. The staff were super friendly and gave us recommendations. I had a latte and the chechebsa, both were super good. The chechebsa was spicy (but not too spicy) and the coffee was strong and delicious. There was another table in there having authentic Ethiopian coffee (with the incense and popcorn) which looked and smelled good and I would like to try the next time we go. I will definitely go again.

Me and a coworker came here for information about a camp our building is putting on and we ended up trying a lot of great dishes.

The staff there is SUPER friendly and very down to earth, kind hearted people. The food there was incredible! The flavor and the portions were outstanding. I tried “Ful” and my coworker tried “Tibs” both tasted incredible and I will definitely be coming back.

The owner of the store even let me sample some coffee which tasted great, despite me doing really being a fan of coffee. I’m really excited to try more dishes from them!

I highly recommend tying out this place. Above anything else, the people that own the place are very very great people and they’ll give you a lot of information about the dishes and the food should you have any. Definitely a go to Ethiopian spot!

A colleague and I had a lovely time here the other day. We were looking for a coffee shop and found this place. What a hidden gem! The owner, Samuel, was extremely friendly and it was apparent he was very proud of his business and his products. I ordered the Traditional Ethiopan coffee and it came with a fancy set up including incense. They roast the beans fresh every day. We also tried some Ethiopian food. It was delicious and authentic….especially if you love spicy!

This wonderful cafe offers delicious, family- farmed Ethiopian coffee roasted on site and prepared in a variety of styles including traditional style. The owners/ proprietors are welcoming and kind. We’ve tried the samosas, which were delicious. Can’t wait to try the other authentic fare! Highly recommend visiting and sampling authentic Ethiopian dishes and coffee in the Historic Dundalk District! Cheers.
