On The Go With Nic
Viva La Vida in Auburn delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an atmosphere that felt vibrant, clean, and full of energy. The décor is colorful and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal or a fun night out.
The food was the true highlight. Every dish tasted incredibly fresh and was prepared with obvious care. The flavors were bold, well-balanced, and authentically crafted — the kind of plates that make you pause after the first bite because they are that good. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted high-quality, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated.
The service was equally impressive. The staff checked in regularly, made thoughtful recommendations, and kept everything moving smoothly without ever feeling rushed. Drinks were refilled promptly, food came out quickly, and the team made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
From the atmosphere to the service to the unforgettable flavors, Viva La Vida truly earned all five stars. It is absolutely a must-visit in Auburn — the type of place you try once and immediately start planning your return. ✨

I’ve been there three times. I have never been disappointed. I’m visually impaired almost blind. Very accommodating. I had my daughter’s baby shower there it was truly an amazing event. Brandon is running an amazing restaurant. For date night, grabbing a drink, hanging out with friends or celebrating an event.

would give 0 stars if i could. ordered one plate and decided to change my order because i saw the deals for $4 burrito and the original meal had not been brought out. waiter stated the food was already made but changed the order to beef burrito. i was brought out a chicken burrito with literally just cheese and red sauce. after waiting i did not feel getting my order changed to what i actually ordered and ate it. when it was time to pay i was inquiring of any type of discount since my order was wrong and i was given attitude and he stated “i already had to pay $20 for your nachos you wanted switched” which had nothing to do with me considering the plate was not even delivered to my table

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area by a long shot. It’s cheaper than eating at home or eating fast food, and yet the quality is still impeccable. I could eat here every day if I never wanted to cook again. Their lunch special options are great. The viva nachos always leave me with leftovers

First visit: bright and welcoming ambiance, great service… but left with food poisoning. Very disappointing.

The service was lukewarm. Apparently, the air conditioner wasn’t working, and our frozen margaritas were watery. The floors were slippery in the dining area and restroom. The good thing was that the ground beef was seasoned well. The second visit is highly unlikely. Our waiter was preoccupied watching sports.

I recently dined at Viva La Vida and ordered the Camarones a la Diabla (#59) and Enchiladas Verdes (#110). I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal The Camarones a la Diabla had the perfect amount of heat, and the Enchiladas Verdes were packed with flavor
What’s even better is the affordability, especially with their lunch specials If you visit during the week, you’ll find that the prices are even more budget-friendly. Great food, great value – I’ll definitely be returning for more delicious Mexican cuisine!

Food was pretty fresh. Maybe I don’t know the average Mexican restaurants set up their prices, but I felt the price was pretty expensive side compared to other ones in town. 3 street tacos $15…radish is missing in tacos. Only onions and cilantro…
Also a big bummer was they charged “Non cash fee” using a credit card. ♀️(see photos)
Not many vegetarian options.

There’s clearly a power struggle among the staff, and the level of customer service depends on who you are. Some guests get friendly smiles, others are barely acknowledged. If you’re looking for a great experience, I’d recommend avoiding this place.
