Washington Square Pizza (AKA WSQ) serves up authentic New York–style pizza – and a whole lot more – right next to the Venice Beach Pier. Everything is handmade in our kitchen, from appetizers to desserts, and our dough uses a custom NYC water system, so the taste is authentic. The killer menu is served all-day and features something for everyone: pizza by the slice, whole pies, fresh salads, sandwiches, our famous breakfast burrito (it’s incredible), beer, wine and more. Dig in and chill out on our open-air dining and bar area. Can’t stop by? Order delivery or snag takeout from our grab-and-go window. Family-friendly and owned by a lifelong Venetian, WSQ is the go-to spot for the best pizza and vibes in Venice.

Love this new pizza spot on Washington! Ordered a whole pie, did half the veggie and half a pepperoni. Perfect for 2 with leftovers. Nice open dining area, TV with Dodgers game on, music playing and lots of people watching. Will be back ✅

The Lucky Lu pizza and crispy tartar tuna bites were both great. The service was fast and everyone there was very friendly and turned a quick pizza stop into a really fun dinner. The patio was great for a summer evening after the beach.

Discovered this place by chance. We had the breakfast burrito which was excellent! Much better than Huckleberry’s and even a little nicer (and much bigger) than Great White’s which has long been my favorite. Best of all – it was only $11. The pizza looked good – will try that next time. The coffee was very good. Service was excellent and friendly – not pushy, and no one was throwing the bill down the second we ate. There are few places where you can sit in the sun and enjoy something substantial, tasty and very well priced. This is one of them. Do check it out!

This patio is exactly what this stretch of Washington needed in Venice! Great, chill outdoor patio bar. The bar is beer and wine only.
Food was good – tried the meat lover’s and veggie slices, broccoli salad side, and the tuna tartare bites. The broccoli salad was my favorite. Would have liked to have more toppings on the pizza. Will definitely be back to try more!

We stopped here after an afternoon at the beach: 4 adults, 2 seniors, and 3 children ages 2 to 4. Service was excellent, very accommodating and patient with our large group including little ones. The food was great, lots of choices, something for everyone. And it was happy hour, so we got discounts on pizzas and drinks! Reasonable prices, large delicious pizzas, friendly attentive service. Definitely 5 stars!

Without a doubt the best crust in LA. Wings among top 3 I’ve had in 27 years (as a Buffalo transplant). Owner’s legit from NY – born in Washington Sq!

Great pizza (and I’m from New York)! The only issue is, a soda is advertised to the public at $4, yet I was charged $5 which, aside from being an overly-high price for a 16 oz. fountain soda, which I would not pay again, was contrary to listed price. The woman assisting me was kind but indicated she did not know how to fix its coming up in the system as $5 instead of the listed price of $4. Management: adjust the price in your computer system to the appropriate $4. That aside, the pizza is great ($5/$6 a slice, but that is the norm here) and staff friendly. Also, I love fountain soda with pizza. Just fix the price in your system.

I had an amazing experience at this pizza restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. The pizza crust was crispy on the outside yet soft inside, and every bite tasted authentic and full of quality. The service was friendly and attentive, making the entire visit enjoyable from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for top-notch pizza and a great dining experience.

What a shame this is what opened here. Been waiting for something to fill this space for ages and I decided to give it a try.
I approach the place around 4:30 and I’m with my sleeping baby in a stroller. All I want is a slice of pizza. They have a window where you can get slices and a high top bar for sitting which doesn’t work when you have a baby in a stroller. However there is literally no one sitting at any of the tables and chairs. I ask if I can get a slice from the window and just sit at one of the tables in the shade. They told me rudely. “no. You have to order with a waitress at the restaurant. Those tables are reserved for those guests”. Literally no one else in the whole place.
So I say ok, can I order slices on the menu with a waitress if I sit down. They say yes two slice minimum. I’m like ok. Can I just order two slices at the counter and then sit down then. “NO. You can’t do that”.
At this point I’m annoyed but hoping the food might taste good. So I say “sure I’ll order with a waitress”. I grab the stroller and make my way into the restaurant which involves me having to turn the stroller around to get inside the seating area. When suddenly the hostess yells at me “I told you, you can’t order at the counter”. I turn to her and say “I’m literally putting the stroller inside.”
I was taken aback and didn’t want to cause a scene in front of my child. I honestly should have just left there but I still wanted to try the food.
Guess what. Pizza was horrible and dry. Service was rude. No offer on drink refills. It’s so sad this opened here. They won’t make it far at all.
Update: despite the owners comments below. I emailed them and they never got back to me. Seriously. Everyone in this establishment is so rude and I hope they go out of business.

This place was phenomenal. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming. My family and I were greeted as we were walking by, most likely by the owner, whose energy was absolutely contagious. We decided to stop in for dinner on our way back, and I’m so happy we did. They’re dog friendly too, which made it even better. My pup loved the water bowl outside. Having just moved to the Seattle Washington area, their dog friendliness and genuine hospitality truly made this meal feel like a little piece of home.
