The diner is a little far out of town, but the food is worth the drive. I usually get chicken fried steak, but tried their smash burger and waffle fries, delicious! The only thing I would change is more comfortable chairs.

You will not be disappointed in the portions! The first Friday night special experience of Fish and Chips arrived to the table with THREE huge, in-house battered cod, potatoes and slaw for $15. Marlo (The Diner’s chef) greeted us and brought our water, we didn’t know he was the chef until we asked who prepared our yummy meal and our server told us. It is exciting to have a restaurant OPEN for dinner in northern New Mexico (Tierra Amarilla/Chama area) and judging from the number of customers on this visit, so are A LOT of people! Another customer told us they came in for lunch earlier in the week and the burrito was outstanding! Second Friday night visit had a special of Prime Rib with garlic mashed potatoes! And the next Friday night visit they offered Chicken or Pork enchilada casserole.
And, yes, keep going back for more, you will, too!

This place is incredible, the beauty of the surrounding mountains is amazing. The people at this place are incredible, friendly and courteous I enjoyed the camping area ,the General store has many items that are sometimes forgotten. The food at the restaurant is very tasty and the meats are mostly smoked and prepared right there, very fresh. The self service laundry is helpful, coin operated. Showers are clean and roomy. I loved my experience .

This was awesome! If you like chicken fried steak, you are going to love this little out of the way dinner! Homemade gravy and mashed potatoes the best I have ever tasted! The chicken fried burger was amazing! The portion size was huge as well. Well worth the drive and they have full hookup rv sites, near El Vado lake ❤️

If you are in the area, I definitely recommend stopping here to eat. Thec2 meals we got were the spaghetti dinner and pulled pork sandwich with french fries , cherry pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Both meals were excellent the pie was delicious. The cucumber vinegarette salad was so delicious and fresh tasting too. Don’t forget to buy some of their seasonings too!

This remote eatery was worth the drive! We read the reviews & decided to check it out. Boy, were we surprised! Rustic & comfortable, the setting is cool! It supports an RV Park. We had the special Grilled Cheese Smash Burger…delicious! We also shared the Enchilada Burger…green Chile & beef was superb! Not a lot of choices in Chama, so drive a little for a good meal!
