My family had a lovely vegan veggie plate dinner. We shared three veggie plates between six people, and that was plenty of food. The injera was cooked perfectly for scooping. The greens and lentils were flavorfully seasoned. Dinner was a great value with plenty of delicious food for the price. Tensu will soon need to expand their dining area, because the food and service are amazing!

Don’t be fooled by the bare-bones kitchen. The food was fan-tas-tic!!! They only had the veggie combo that day, but the flavor was absolutely incredible. The portions were generous and the prices fair! You could tell that this was a community institution, as many people were running in to pick up their daily meal or ingredients. I highly recommend it!

Staying at airport hotels in the US the options for food within walking distance are usually burgers, pizza, fried chicken and the like. So this Ethiopian store/restaurant was a welcome surprise. There was no menu and three choices. I had no idea what they were so chose one randomly – delicious and inexpensive

The food is outta this world. Everything is authentic and shipped fresh from Ethiopia. There’s no menu and only 3 tables and a seating bar. Didn’t bother me, because the food was SO GOOD! The owner was amazingly kind. I wanted to pay 3x what our bill came out to. Incredibly cheap, good, and heartfelt. If I lived in the area, I would eat here at least once a week. Cmon! This spot is golden. Do yourself a spicy favor and try it.

Great little local store with a restaurant inside! Friendly staff and good food. There is no fixed menu, you have to ask inside. The dining area is small.

If you are into international cuisine and country experiences this a great mom and pop restaurant with home meal cuisine. You will definitely have a wonderful experience tasting a different kind of food made with fresh organic glisten free ingredientes. This meal was a beat stew with lentils on Teff home made bread.

This was a perfect hole in the wall-everything made from scratch and with love, and the sweetest looking surely someone’s grandma came out smiling with a delicious platter. No menus, no utensils. Get the vegetables and this is as it gets for $16.

This place is a treasure if you love great food and don’t care about ambience. It is a market that also offers food. They do take away, but also have a few small tables if you want to eat there. It is not a regular restaurant. That said, the food is amazing. I split the beef wat and the vegetable plate with a friend and we had enough for leftovers. It was heaven and I thought about if for days after. This is my new favorite place. And the staff is lovely.

Asked the lady at the counter to give me whatever they had for lunch (there is no menu), and I got a beef stew with injera (bread). Very nicely spiced and overall delicious. This is a “to go” place, but they do have some tables if you absolutely want to eat there.

One of the best Ethiopian restaurants/store in Virginia. They’re very welcoming and the customer service is beyond expectations. Tinsu provides variety of Ethiopian cuisine and ingredients to the community. You can either enjoy her delicious dishes or buy high quality organic ingredients which can help you prepare your own taste at home. Keep the good work Tinsu.
