Born on the Amalfi Coast of Italy, our family first came to the U.S. in the 1960’s. With us came a passion and desire to share the Italian culture as well as fine, authentic food. The Pane and Criscuolo families have now been in the restaurant business for nearly 50 years, serving most of Fairfield County and the Bronx.

The food items at this establishment do not meet CT state health standards, I found hair in my crepe. I have a photo to prove. Plus you’re supposed to cook a crepe on both sides before adding toppings. It was Poorly made crepe(soggy) with hair in it.

Nice and quaint Italian bakery. Pastries are delicious and the drinks are yummy. Definitely try the cannoli and the sfogliatella. They have a Nutella latte that’s quite delicious

A fantastic lil father&son cafe that pumps out mini traditional Italian pastries as well as extremely high quality Italian ices and gelatos… Everything is made fresh with a great attention to detail and refinement….this cherry and passion fruit ice I had was a revelation. The cherry flavor tasted imported and wasnt a heavy corn syrup base so it was refreshing without being coiyngly sweet and leaving you thirsty. And the passion fruit was phenomenal and the best version of it I have ever had….def worth stopping by and giving them a shot if you’re into that homemade rustic vibe that screams love and care for their craft these two gentlemen make magic happen in that lil spot! Hint: ask to try the Lilly w/almond italian ice and be shockingly surprised at how much you love it***

Small place with real Italian desserts, gelato, and panini. They serve affogato as well, which to me is a treasure if I can find it. It’s been a while since I had a real European dessert in the USA and this place met and exceeded my expectations!

My favorite place for a cappuccino!! Pies are always a hit for the holidays. The rainbow cakes are my go to. My boyfriend loves the house-made ice cream (and agreed by family and friends). Orders are always consistent! I would definitely recommend stopping in for an authentic italian experience!

Best cafe in the area! Nice quiet atmosphere, and it’s the perfect place to read, work, or chat with friends. Great drinks and sweets too. They also have delicious paninis, and everything is very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants and cafes in the area.

We were hungry after visiting the Maritime Aquarium and found this cafe when searching for a coffee shop in walking distance. The Caprese Panini was delicious and the Latte was adorable. Great service and atmosphere. We also enjoyed some cannoli for dessert.

While I have lived in Norwalk for 20 years, I didn’t really come to appreciate all the city had to offer until I moved to South Norwalk about 5 years ago. Just when I thought living in SoNo couldn’t get better, along came La Dolce. This little café is absolutely incredible. Their wonderful cappuccino, delicious pastries and fabulous gelato make La Dolce a favorite stop for me and my daughter and son. The father and son owners are fantastic. Both they and the rest of their staff have always been friendly and attentive to me and my family.
I brought my parents here in November when they were visiting from out of town. My father loves to make pastiera (a traditional Italian wheat pie typically served at Easter). When the owner heard my father talking about making his pastiera, he quickly brought over a good-sized piece for us to try. The pride in his face as we sampled his delicious pastiera is clearly reflected in all the outstanding treats they serve at La Dolce.
If you find yourself in South Norwalk, be sure to treat yourself to La Dolce. If you don’t find yourself in South Norwalk, do yourself a favor and visit, if only to treat yourself to La Dolce. If you happen to live in SoNo, consider yourself lucky to have one of the best cafés in the tristate area just a quick walk away.

Great little spot in sono. We stopped in after dinner the other night and we are so happy we did. Amazing gelato and some of the best cookies I’ve ever had. We will definitely be returning here.
