The Alamo,,I have been coming here since 2019 when I moved into the area,, temporary. It started with a friend’s Mom who brought me here for the “Taco Tuesday Specials”. I still recall the day,,the interior reminds me of the state of Texas. It also feels like a film set for a cable show pre-1980’s . Unlike the Alamo were ,, singer Ozzy Osbourne is connected to via scandal. This place serves food,,and drink’s. Speaking of drinks,, I even tried to apply for a bartending job,, before the COVID 19 shutdown in 2019. I don’t think the female manager,, wanted me “? She may have been intimidated,,over my charm .I had thought that I would never sing or dance again. We know that all Entertainment gypsies,,can never stay away from a Camera, Microphone or a stage. . There taco’s are pretty good,,hard shell. I have also ordered meals for takeout from the window. That faces the parking lot,, entrance. They have really good burritos, burgers and kids meals. This restaurant is very popular with the locals. If you drive by this parking lot,,this place is packed. Especially before the Corona shut down in 2019 and reopening in 2021. They don’t skimp on ingredients either,,the staff are nice. If you like to drink booze and beer,,and watch sports this is your place. I included some pictures,, they also have Coca Cola from Mexico. I tried a few bottles months ago. It has such a delicious flavor,,the bottles can be recycled. Anyway,,so when your craving authentic,,home cooked Mexican food. The Alamo doesn’t disappoint.

I’ve been eating at Alamo for years. While their food is not the best Mexican food I’ve eaten in restaurants, they are some of the best Mexican food in the area. Their beans and rice are very good. While I typically find myself leaving the beans and rice untouched at most restaurants, as I’d rather get full on tastier things like tacos and tamales, etc, I tend to eat most of them here. Their carnitas are very good, but I tried their cochinita tacos for the first time recently and was thoroughly amazed. The chipotle chicken plate is really good and my usual go to, that is until I tried the cochinita taco. My family usually gets various tacos and tamales and always enjoy it. Their salsa and chips are great, which is usually the sign of a good Mexican restaurant. It’s one of the few places we eat where we never have complaints.

Wow! Just wow! The food was phenomenal!! The atmosphere was great, this restaurant is pretty large. They have a great bar and dining area. The food was just delicious. Our waitress was very nice and very helpful with deciding what we wanted to eat. I really recommend eating here!!

I’ve been going to this joint ever since I was a kid, so just about 15 years. Top teir, always been my favorite.

About 5 years ago, I’ve moved to Texas, and I could never find anything like this restaurant. Everything was either too big or too expensive to grab a plate out there. Over here is perfect with the window, where you could ask for a couple burritos for like 5 bucks. And they would always be done quick and fresh.

Everytime I’m in town, I always gotta hit up my no.1 restaurant. Thank you for serving my family and I great food after all these years

We eat in and take out fairly often, the Alamo has some incredibly tasty food and excellent customer service.

One of my many favorites is the Chili Colorado burrito, picture attached. Very high quality with plenty of meat. Highly recommend!

We ate here weekly when I lived in the area in the nineties and 2000s and they even catered my wedding. We moved away and I had not been in 20 years. We visited this summer while we were on vacation. The food, atmosphere, and service was everything I remembered. We ate in once, and did a take out order on our way out of town to eat in the car. The dine-in experience was lovely. The take-out experience was frustrating. They accidentally shorted us one single taco, which is no big deal and easily fixed, or so you’d think. The guy at the window was so insistent that he’d include the taco that he made me go back to the car and bring the entire order back to him so he could paw through it and verify that he had in fact, missed the taco. It really soured the experience, and was so unnecessary. I’d encourage management to tighten up that element of the operation.

My lunch at Alamo reminded me of growing up in the Midwest, and that’s not a good thing.

Now, I will say right away that the server was incredibly nice and attentive. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. And the habanero salsa I liked quite a bit (no idea if that was made in-house or not).

But the chipotle enchiladas… Yikes. I expected a red sauce along the lines of canned chipotles in adobo, or at the very least, a red sauce. The enchiladas arrived covered in a cream-based, almost mayonnaise-like chipotle sauce. Add on top of that cheese and sour cream, and the dish was just so incredibly rich with dairy it barely felt like enchiladas.

Maybe I picked a bad dish, but a dish composed like that, in my book, says a lot. With so many amazing Mexican options in Southern California, I won’t be hurrying back to The Alamo.

Seafood Enchiladas — need I say more? If this was my last meal, I’d be okay with that. My wife got the Chipotle Chicken Enchiladas and loved them. We are no strangers to delicious Mexican food; we both enjoyed our food so much, we are taking our leftovers back to Arizona. Our server Irene was amazing! We will be back when we are visiting family next.

We’ve lived in Thousand Oaks for 30 years and never got around to trying this place. Finally we decided to try it out only to show up and find out they’re CLOSED. Checked the hours again and yup says they open at 10am. They were not. Chains on the front door. Tried calling. No answer and mailbox was full. As we were pulling out of the parking lot someone finally starts to unchain the doors. Just another restaurant that can’t get it together and open on time. Maybe we’ll try again in 30 years, but I doubt they’ll still be in business.
