This is a week hidden gem but worth it! It is take our so be prepared to eat in the car or at the picnic table. The country scenery was beautiful. Great food, friendly service, price, and country atmosphere.

Think of B&D as a roadside barbecue stand: You pull up, park, order your food from a walk-up window, and because there’s no longer a dining room here, you either go eat in your car, or sit at a picnic table outside. Strictly to-go plates. They only accept CASH. $10 gets you a large plate, and a big tea is $2 (all taxes included). They ONLY serve pulled pork & sauce, rice & hash, cole slaw, and pickles, and they sell cake. They don’t bother with fried chicken or vegetables or potato salad or “wet” desserts, because this isn’t a buffet. The hash is a little on the thin side, but it’s savory and peppery; the sauce is mustard based; and the overall quality is definitely on par with the most popular barbecue joints in the Midlands. So, if it’s a gorgeous Saturday outside (the only day they’re open), then please go have a picnic here! But, if you don’t like something I pointed out, you may want to skip B&D.

Delicious BBQ, and unlike anything I’ve had before. Very pleasant stop. We ate under the umbrella-covered picnic tables they have outside. Super reasonable prices and good sized portions. Give this place a try if you are thinking about it!

This is an independently owned family operated. Top-notch barbecue place located between the town of Smoaks Lodge. The portion sides are good and the prices are very reasonable. Carry out is the only option right now

Not a sit down restaurant or buffet anymore. Several people recommended this restaurant. We drove out to it, but the only have 2 plastic outside tables in a field with out any shade. Might have stayed to try it out but the sand gnats were prolific. Seems to be a local take away place. I bet it was great when open based on the recommendations.

This is some of the best BBQ you will ever eat. I grew up less than 2 miles up the road from B&D and my dad would take us here as much as possible. He split wood for them for extra money. They are great people, family owned and operated. It’s buffet style so it’s all you can eat, so make sure you come hungry. You will leave stuffed and satisfied. I live in the upstate now, but I try to make it down a couple times a year just to make sure I get a plate.

We’ve lived 5 miles away, for the past 2 1/2 yrs, and had no idea this place existed. The food is really good and the people were very friendly. Other customers there said this is the best BBQ around…way better than Dukes BBQ.

Very good bbq as always! Wish they would go back to a dine in option. Take out only.
