We came here for our anniversary dinner, and everything about the experience was excellent. The food was absolutely amazing — I had the best steak I’ve ever had, and the blue corn sopes with pork belly were incredible. The service was outstanding as well, attentive without being overbearing.

We had a Wednesday evening reservation, and it was a slow night, so we actually ended up being the only table there. While that might be a deal breaker for some, for us it made the evening even more intimate and special.

Everything from the quiet atmosphere to the perfectly cooked dishes made for a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Growing up with a father who was a shrimper, I’ve been around seafood my entire life—so it takes a lot to impress me. Monarca Baja Kitchen absolutely delivered. For the first time in a long time, I was blown away by the quality and freshness of the oysters. Whether grilled or raw, they are an absolute must-try. The house sauces that accompanied them were the perfect complement.

The food, drinks, and atmosphere were all top-tier. And the service? Incredible. Abraham and our server Dania were amazing—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s clear the team at Monarca takes pride in every detail.

If you’re a seafood lover—or even just curious—this place is a gem. Highly recommend!

This new restaurant offers freshly caught fish and an array of seafood sourced daily, truly bringing the ocean to your plate. The menu also features an impressive selection of cocktails and wines. The service was exceptional, with each dish thoughtfully explained to us. I will undoubtedly return. A heartfelt thank you to Ozzy for making our evening an unforgettable experience, and my appreciation also extends to Monarca.

Monarca was a five star experience from the moment we walked in the door. We enjoyed the fish tacos and flounder. The food is fresh and mindfully prepared. We also enjoyed a cocktail. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. You will not regret dining at Monarca! Cannot wait to come back.

We celebrated Mother’s Day at Monarca and we loved it! The food, the service, and atmosphere were amazing. The manager, Abraham, accommodated a comfortable seat for my senior dad. The live music by Eva was incredible! We will definitely be going back to this wonderful restaurant.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed the Tacos Baja. The appetizer selection was also great, I ordered the shrimp popcorn and they were delicious. And the cocktails are amazing. This is a place I would definitely recommend.

The service was really poor, and the food was not good. The restaurant itself is very beautiful. We ordered three apps, along with entrees for each of us, and because it was so unappetizing, we didn’t finish anything. We were probably the first people in the restaurant, and it took the server forever to even take our order. The menu needs to be revamped. The lobster burrito was so bad. I don’t know how they prepared the lobster, but it was not it. There was five of us, we all got different entrees, and none of us cared for any of them. So many great places to eat downtown, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. I would suggest the servers and chef give Chilmoli a try and see what an amazing experience is in comparison.

I am very shocked at all of the great reviews considering how poor our experience was. We have made it a point to try every restaurant downtown. The restaurant itself looks so beautiful, and we were really looking forward to trying this place.

First time trying Monarca. Food is amazingly good. I ordered the ceviche caliente, crab cake, tuna Tostadas, and shrimp quesabirrias. Everything was amazing. Our server Chito was very nice and helpful at all times. Drinks are 9/10, but still good. I would definitely go back.

We go to First Friday downtown every month and have tried nearly all the restaurants, but Monarcas has by far been the worst dining experience. The service was inattentive—we ran out of water quickly and never got refills, appetizers came out with the entrees, and one appetizer never even arrived. Drinks were weak, the short rib birria was disappointing, the crab cakes had no flavor, and the lobster burrito was dry and bland. The caramelo tostadas felt more like an appetizer than an entrée. The atmosphere is nice, but unfortunately, that’s the only redeeming quality. Would not recommend.

Great food! We had a dinner for two and the place was beautiful. We ordered a couple of plates, but our favorite was the aguachile de camaron. The pan de elote is a must try dessert.
