As I entered the restaurant, no host/hostess was present as a couple were ahead of me and ahead of them was a large group. The couple ahead of me informed me that the staff was preparing a table for the large group. I waited over ten minutes and still no assistance. An employee did come to the paypoint to work on something but failed to acknowledge anybody. This was then point where she should have greeted me and offered me some sort of assistance. I noticed (and so did the couple ahead of me) vacant booths where the couple ahead of me could be seated immediately and then seat my wife and I in another booth and then work on aggregating tables for the large group. The couple did inform me that they were told prior that the large group table would be built before seating anyone else (which is NOT the procedure of any restaurant when booths are available for immediate seating of the smaller groups waiting to be seated). After waiting ten minutes my wife and I decided to eat elsewhere and so did the couple ahead of us waiting longer than us. I went across the street to Logan Roadhouse where they seated us immediately. I will never visit this restaurant again. KingFish has lost my business. 🙁

Seated and waited on promptly, but from there it was downhill. It wasn’t a slalom downhill, but straight. Who has ever ordered crab cakes and not received a small fork to work the meat out? Many varieties of food were ordered ranging from a scrod basket up to crab legs. Nothing was tasteful. The fish was tasteless. The shrimp was horrible. Most of the five in my party struggled to eat half the food served. It was just pure bland. The end of the meal was just as bad. It took twenty minutes to pay our bill. The staff was just clueless in the operation of a restaurant. After watching them handle one customers credit card, I decided to pay in cash. They had to use another customers tip to make my change. Nobody knew how to open a cash drawer. This meal was over $100 for all in my party, and I would not have given $10 had I known what this meal would have been in advanced. The Kingfish on the river may be fine, but the one on off Blankenbaker should be closed. Avoid!
