I always come to Sunset Deli but this particular day I ordered a Turkey sub and it was soooo good. Not that I was surprised but I called the next morning to give my hats off to the chef. Sunset Subs and Steaks is our favorite spot whenever we travel from New Jersey to Delaware. We always make it a point to stop here. They have the best cheesesteaks in town, packed with meat, cheese, and perfectly grilled.
This time, we decided to stop for breakfast. We ordered two egg and cheese wraps with mushrooms and our favorite sauce, Boom Boom. This sauce is a delicious mix of peppers and garlic that will take you straight to heaven if you like spicy flavors. The wraps were loaded with mushrooms, and the eggs were perfectly cooked and never dry.
Listening to the owner’s suggestions is always a good idea; he really knows what he’s talking about. We appreciate that everything is fresh, of high quality, and clearly made with love. This family-owned business is dedicated to serving the community’s needs, and it shows.
Sunset Subs and Steaks is definitely a place to visit whenever you’re in town!

Not the most appetizing looking place, though the signage from the road looks nice. The Philly cheesesteak had a decent amount of meat and reasonable flavor. The cherry peppers in it however were almost absent with flavor.
The fish in the fish and chips was excessively salty. That was not able to be finished. The Taste was okay, but again, way too much salt.
I don’t think I will return.

Decided to try breakfast items. Now. I’ve learned my lesson. Opted for a BEC, and instead of a roll it was served on dry white toast. Thankfully I added tomato to it to help. But they charged a dollar for adding tomato. The speed was a little bit slow in making it, and it just was kind of a boring sandwich. I don’t think I’ll be back to try dinner at any point.

The owner is one of the nicest guys around, always takes care of his customers! One of the best cheese steaks and chicken sandwichs around and extremely affordable! Definitely deserves your business!

Nice clean little place. They serve breakfast sandwiches so they’re open early. Nice little cheesesteak. They advertise ribeye and I believe it was Rib Eye. $9.99 for a large cheesesteak hoagie. $9.99 is the only problem with this cheesesteak and place. Good overall experience.

I was looking for a good place for lunch for myself and my co-workers in New Castle. I googled “good sandwiches in New Castle” and Sunset Subs & Steaks showed up. I looked at the reviews and saw that they were positive. I placed my order online. (Cheese Steak w/lettuce, mayo and ketchup) When I got there the owner said that the order came over as an Italian sub w/lettuce, mayo and ketchup. (I must have hit the wrong sandwich when ordering) The owner said he didn’t make the sandwich b/c he thought there might be a mistake. He was super nice and made my order in 5 minutes. When I got back to my office the sandwich was hot and delicious and not lacking in meat. Very tasty. I will be coming back to this location and encourage my co-workers to do the same. Great job!!!
