Pros: large portion, excellent flavor, delicious rum punch
Cons: EXTREMELY slow service. It took my party 45min to be seated and another hour to receive food. We ordered as soon as we sat down. The restaurant was also out of 70% of food items on the menu. The place is only open for 5 hours so I was confused on why there isn’t enough food to last 5 hours of service.
I think the problem is, they don’t have enough employees to run the kitchen, carry out, bar, and dine in.
The flavor is in the food but I will not visit again.

I recently visited Hangover Social Bar and Grill, and when I tell you the food was wonderful, I truly mean it! From the moment I walked in, the hospitality was amazing and the customer service was A1. The staff made me feel welcomed and appreciated. I personally had the brown stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage, and oh my God — it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can definitely tell the food is made with care. I highly recommend anyone to stop by and try their food. You will not be disappointed! I’ll definitely be back.

If you’re looking for real authentic Jamaican flavor, this is the spot! From the moment I walked in, the aroma alone told me the food was going to be amazing. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned with just the right balance of spice and smokiness, and the oxtail was tender, rich, and full of flavor. New to the area and found this place on TikTok. I got the brown stew chicken and my hubby had the curry goat. Whoever made my brown stew chicken made it with LOVE. The meat was falling off the bone and it had flavor all the way through it.
We met one of the owners (the wife) and she was such a beautiful kindhearted woman. She checked on us (so did our server) and spoke to us for a while. The music was great and it was such a nice vibe.
They also serve liquor! The restaurant was clean and so were the bathroom. Back to this food, we definitely got our money worth. The portion sizes are worth every penny. Don’t walk … run to this place ASAP.

I stopped here for lunch, and I’m glad I did. Abigail got us seated and our order in quickly. The food was out in no time and was delicious. The wings were incredible, and the rice and cabbage sides were also fantastic. The portions were massive enough for two meals. Happy to have found a new go-to lunch spot.

Fun fact I can walk to this restaurant and will be returning once the season breaks. I’ve been craving Jamaican food and this place appeared on my algorithm. I came on Bob Marley night and the vibes were great. Get here early as we came to find out that some food can be sold out. It was date night I had the two meat combo with jerk and curry chicken cabbage and white rice. My date had the same minus the curry chicken. The food was hot and this is crucial to me. The food was so good felt like I was on the island. I personally don’t care for the plastic utensils and your food comes out in to go boxes. That in no way takes away from the food or the experience. Total with tip for 4 drinks and two plates $90. I won’t be gatekeeping this one. The authenticity is here come one come all.

Finally got a chance to try the Reggae Wings with Beans and rice and cabbage. And now I’m in trouble. . I can’t wait to get back and get some more. The wings were delicious with a generous amount of heat and sweetness. The cabbage were seasoned perfectly and cooked nice and tender, also with a nice kick. And the beans and rice(rice and peas). We’re most and delicious also. I’ll try other dishes but I believe I found my favorite already. My wife ordered the Jerk Chicken also with cabbage and rice and peas. She finished her food with a huge smile on her face which was also my reaction. Friendly owners and staff and cozy atmosphere. Love this place. We’ll see you guys again soon.

I’ll start by saying I drove 30 minutes just to get to The Hang Over Social. I was craving jerk and decided to give them a try. When I arrived, the cashier who didn’t seem to be in the best mood told me there would be a 45-minute wait. I said that was fine and placed my order for three meals.
I waited in the parking lot for about 50 minutes. As I was walking back inside, another young woman was entering with a bag of food. Once inside, she told the cashier that the food she received was not what she ordered. When I asked the young lady what she had, she described my exact order.
At that point, I requested a full refund because I didn’t have another 45 minutes to wait for my meals to be remade. I was given a refund, but that was it no apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, and no effort to make the situation right.
I understand that everyone makes mistakes, but at the very least, an apology would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, the customer service was extremely disappointing.

Was in the mood for Jamaican food and was anticipating a drive into STL to get some until I found out there was one here on the east side!
Not realizing they closed at 7, I sped over to get there in time and nervous the food wouldn’t be good. When I walked in was met with a friendly welcome and advised only curry and stewed chicken was left, which I wanted oxtail and jerk but decided to try these anyway. It came with rice and peas and cabbage. The food came out quickly and definitely felt like a nice serving. I did a quick check in the car of what was the curry and was immediately excited about how it looked. I smelled it all the way back home
With coming late and limited options (which granted coming in less than an hour before closing is on me), all my concerns went out the window when I got home and finally got to eat it. Omg was this food is delicious I had the curry and hubby had the stewed and we were both extremely happy with our meals. It’s still hot and fresh and I got it about an hour ago. We will absolutely be back and can’t wait to try the other options.
