We started our morning watching various YouTube videos regarding sandwiches. The Cuban was our last video and it got us craving them. Our Google search yielded only one acceptable, non-franchise option that we’d never tried before…and off we went.

Obed was a very gracious host and treated us like family. We were treated to a lil history of his life, his family and his passion for the food he creates with love. He uses fresh ingredients and only serves you the quality of food that he would eat himself. As we chatted, he excused himself to get the pan that he roasted the pork in. Our mouthed watered as he showed the crispy skin on the piece of meat and all of the juices at the bottom …this man loves what he does.

We both got a Cuban and a ham croquet. The croquet was a nice appetizer as we waited on our sandwiches. When the sandwiches arrived , they were HUGE!
The portion was perfect for my large appetite and I was left satisfied and indecisive about getting one To-Go, for later.

We will be back and next time the milkshake with mamey is on our list to try.

Please give this humble and wonderfully delicious place a try. You’ll be treated like family and given food that’s prepared with love. Pricing is incredibly reasonable considering portion size and quality of food.

Amazing cuban sandwiches (big enough to share), cafe con Leche, and big breakfast with ham and eggs. Oh, and the cuban toast is amazing!!! We also enjoy sitting outdoors. The owner is a very kind man and makes everything himself from scratch!!!

I knew when I walked up to this resturant that I was in the right place! From the moment I walked onto the porch I was treated like family or a long lost friend and the wonderful food they make was full of that same love!
Do yourself a favor and visit Pipo y Mimas when you’re in the area!!

There are no words to describe how delicious Mr. Obed’s food is. He has a very welcoming personality and his food is so good we had to come back the next day for more. On our first day we had a Cuban sandwich, maduros and yuca frita with his signature garlic sauce; the next day we had costillas fritas, arroz blanco, yuca con garlic sauce and the best garbanzos guisados. Will definitely recommend!

The food is prepared while you wait on the raised deck. We had the fried chicken plate, steak sandwich, and fried yuca with garlic mojo. Enjoyed all of it! Paid $40 with the tip. The portions are generous. Will visit again when we are in the area. Worth the short ride from Pensacola Beach.

Glad I stopped here while driving through! Enjoyed the Pan con lechon, especially the garlic sauce on it. The sandwich had a healthy portion of meat too. The maduros were especially good. Ended the meal with a colada and a friendly conversation with the owner. I would definitely try the Cuban sandwich next time. Actually, wouldn’t mind just stopping for a colada.

Hidden gem! Good food, quiet location, good prices, friendly staff.

I’ve tried the beef empanada, roast pork sandwich, yuca fries, and coffee. All delicious.

My empanada wasn’t cooked all the way through and still almost frozen in the center. They were really nice about cooking up a new one. The flavor was great.
