If you’re craving some down-home Southern cooking, Mae Maw’s is where you want to pull up a chair and unbuckle your belt a notch. This place just feels like Sunday lunch at Grandma’s house — except you don’t have to help wash the dishes afterward.
We stopped in after church with friends, and it was an all-around great experience. The burgers got rave reviews from everyone at the table, and the fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy enough to make a French chef jealous. The salads were fresh and actually looked like they came from the produce aisle, not a bag, and the fried chicken tenders were so good I caught myself humming hymns between bites.
I went for the fried shrimp with a side of fried okra and collard greens, and I’ll just say this — the okra was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The fried fish didn’t quite hit the same high note, but that’s probably just a fluke.
Service was friendly, fast, and full of smiles. Our drinks never got empty, and they treated us like family — the kind of family that actually likes each other.
So if you’re anywhere near Dadeville and want some honest-to-goodness Southern comfort food, Mae Maw’s is the place to go. Just don’t plan on leaving hungry.

Pretty good grub. Was with group of 5. I had a fried chicken finger sandwich. Was ok. Ordered fries extra crispy, but they were not hot when I got them. The wife got her burger without the fries…took about 10 more minutes to get them. Mom had a grilled chicken salad. Dad and uncle had fried catfish.

Went here tonight with my nephew and my mama for my birthday. We kinda got there late, but they still made me feel fantastic for my birthday! The steak was cooked to perfection, fried mushrooms were fantastic and everything else was really great! Our server was extremely attentive and so friendly! I wished I could have gave her more for a tip and next time I come, I hope I get her and I will make up for it! She definitely deserves it!! I absolutely adored this place and it brought back so many memories when I used to go as a little girl when it was named differently, but it felt like I was home again. I genuinely will recommend this place 100%! Thank you guys for an amazing time and I can’t wait to come back!

We all met there for my Dad’s (John Smith) 90th Birthday celebration. The food was great with a nice atmosphere. The seating & service was just perfect. Great place for Birthday parties, business meetings or just dinner for two. It was good to be home with family.

The food here is always so fresh and the portion is larger for the price than I expected. Not once have I been disappointed by quality or taste. The service is always so great. I’ve only had the blonde waitress (I’m terrible with names and will try and get it again next time) but the others are always welcoming when we come in. This is my favorite place to get a burger. If you live a little further out, and wonder if it’s worth it, I whole heartedly believe it is.
