Okra stuck together, 10 pieces of chicken with no seasoning, so I had to procure my own lemon pepper . Shouldn’t have to pick through my food. Gave this location a second and last try.

79¢ Tuesdays are my favorite, but I buy other days also. The chicken is addicting, but they are so stingy with the fries. You can buy a bag of potatoes for what they sell a handful of fries for. I actually thought my fries were being eaten before handing them to me, but that is actually the amount they sell, smdh. Chicken can be fried s minute or two longer sometimes too. I had to come back and add to my review since my last visit. The order was totally wrong, but I didn’t know until I got home. The lemon pepper did not taste the same it had a chemical like taste to it as if it was tampered with and the roof of my daughter mouth kept bothering her now she has red irritated gums at the top of her mouth. We are both not feeling well now. I’m done, I was glad to have Captain J close by, but those young people need an older responsible person super using them on every shift. I no longer trust Captain Jays, this is not the first location to have had issues with.

If you haven’t tried the Captain Jay’s Fish & Chicken on Telegraph Rd in Redford, Mi (across from Aldi’s)…I suggest that you do so immediately.. I HATE it when the food is great, but the service is bad or vice versa. I LOVE that this is not my experience with Captain Jay’s. I am often served by Tiara or Destiny. I am sure that I am missing the names of at least two other team members who have also made my day with their great customer service and food. I must say that the team really has been consistently excellent. When small miscommunications have occurred (usually my mistake and not theirs), I dont receive short-tempered, rude, or entitled responses. It has only been professional and welcoming reactions. They make you want to be their regular customer with their great food and even better customer service. The Tuesday chicken deals are phenomenally priced for the budget conscious. My family loves the shrimp too. I have become a walking billboard for Captain Jay’s by buying their food for others and allowing them to taste the difference for themselves. Not one person, for whom I have bought Captain Jay’s food, has been disappointed. All of them have also become loyal customers. I have absolutely no complaints for this convenient location, with great deals, great food, and great service. Metro Detroit is full of awesome and diverse food options. I pray that management and ownership reward Tiara and Destiny for always making me want to patronize and encourage others to do so too. Trust me, many restaurants have employees who chase customers away. No restaurant can survive without customers. So thanks for valuing your customers by hiring such a good team. Good food and good people should be experienced by everyone. The Telegraph Rd, Redford, Mi, location (across from Aldi’s) is my new food crave.

I came in Tuesday. The cashier (Tee) I think her name was and is so pleasant and patient. The restaurant was hectic from the special, and I watched her handle herself with poise as she helped everyone with a smile on her face. Everyone here is always so helpful. And my food was fresh and good.

This was our first (but not our last) visit so we went inside to place our order. The staff was super nice – no pressure to order quickly and answered our questions. We were able to order all thighs which is our preference for only a small upcharge. We chose Mac and cheese and potato salad for our sides. The chicken was piping hot, crispy and delicious. The sides were really good too. The potato salad just a little sweet and the Mac and cheese flavorful. I think they do more take out but the dining area was nice and clean. The rest room was clean too. We’ll be back!

I live in the area and have always loved Captain Jays. However this particular location has poor customer service. The past two times I’ve gone to this location and used their drive-thru both times their service has been poor. The first time food took almost 20 mins before I received it. If I were dining in this wouldn’t be an issue. But this is not common in a drive-thru. I decided to try them one more time and still received the same poor experience. I asked for Lemon Pepper seasoning and received plain chicken in addition to the long wait. When I called and asked to speak with a manager I was told he’s busy. The workers at the window appear to be poorly trained and unprofessional.

Gave me the wrong order. Call and told them what happen. Young man put me on hold than hang up the phone. We there to explain what happen. They look at me like I was crazy. The guy in the kitchen came up front like he was upset. He took my receipt lay it on the counter. So he forgot about my food. I was sitting up there for 40 minutes waiting. I saw a bag in the warmer when I came there. Than she gave me the food. This was after I told them I want my money. This was a very poor service. People coming in was having the same problem. If they turn there music down they can here people order. Yes I am a manager at a Cansico. I am very upset with my service. 7/9/2025 6:30 pm.
