I had to attend an online meeting and my husband did a quick search for a brunch place nearby. For some reason he keeps finding the best of places during our trip. I can totally recommend Parlour 1886 for the delicious breakfast/brunch they serve. The ambience is calming and the prices are very reasonable. I was told it opens very early …if you are an early riser. My little one felt like she was in a castle and she was the princess. If you are traveling or just want to try something different, mark this restaurant on your must go places. 10 out of 5 from me. 😉

It’s tough for me to leave a review like this because the Hotel and restaurant have such a cool history and vibe. But, we had reservations for 6:30pm and still had to wait 45 min for table. After we were seated, it was an additional hour and a half before we even saw our food. My wife and I were only able to put in 2 drink orders for the entire 2.5 hour span.

Once the food finally came out, my KC strip was way overdone and my wife’s pasta was still hard, being way underdone, as you can see from the pics attatched. All around terrible experience and not worth the $80.

Yes, the atmosphere is great, the hotel is awesome, but unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy it as much as we’d have liked. It was Valentine’s day eve, and they might have been understaffed, but the long waits were just far too excessive and the food was way too bad for us to try to enjoy it. The waitress was apologetic and discounted our meal, but they should have been better prepared for Valentine’s Day weekend, especially since my reservation was made a month in advance. Sad.

What a beautiful place to spend my birthday. The food was incredible / my steak was cooked to perfection. The environment is understated, elegant but comfortable and features gorgeous regional art. I loved my waiter – he was charming, exceptionally accommodating, efficient, knowledgeable and professional while being so personable and great to visit with. The drive is lovely, the town is lovely and this restaurant needs me to come back and again and again . Treat yourself to this one – you’ll be glad you did

Picked this restaurant on purpose because it was my father’s 89th birthday. Food delivery was very slow 3 salads came out together. My wife’s came out 20 minutes later. Then dinner was another 30minutes to arrive again 3 dinners arrived. My wife ravioli appetizer was delivered 30 minutes later. Un acceptable. No apology from the Chef. Saturday was Valentine’s day. There was no mention that the menu would be restricted to what they had pre prepared. Still took an hour and a half to get dinner and then the stakes were over cooked and cold. We mentioned it to our waitress (Lila) very sweet girl and did her job. All the issues were initiated by the kitchen. I have 30 years in Hospitality experience. The experience from the birthday to the Valentine’s day we disappointing. I expected more from them for the amount of time and money we spent.

My wife is a huge fan of the victorian time period so we dressed up in 1880’s clothing for her birthday. The service, atmosphere and meal were beyond great and exceeded our hopes.

We recently attended the Valentine’s Day Dinner at Parlour 1886. Our meal was fantastic, the Prix Fixe menu was a good value and delicious. We did not do the wine pairing, but purchased a bottle of wine from their list. Despite having a full house, the service and food were great. Chefs Luis, Alicia and team do such an excellent job. Even though it is an hour drive for us (one way), we will be back for more.

We were visiting/ staying at the Elgin Hotel for our second time. Parlour 1886 is conveniently located in the hotel with street and hotel entrances. Our first time here was in Dec 2024. It was amazing then and is still pulling out all the stops for service and quality now. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. All had great info on the surrounding area and gave us great reasons for a repeat visit to the area. The food was tasty. For the first time in my life I was served hot waffles!! We had breakfast, brunch, and dinner there. Everytime we’ve been there it’s packed. When we were there over the holidays there was live music. ❤ This is one classy place in a hidden gem of a town. Cant wait till I and my tastebuds get to visit again!!

Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We ate here for dinner and brunch so this covers both. Dinner service was quick and friendly. It was our 1 year anniversary so they gave us some champagne on the house. Squash toast appetizer was delicious! The ribeye was cooked as ordered, juicy and had great flavor but it was a little chewy. The strip steak was a little drier and not as flavorful but was very tender. The accompanying potatoes and broccoli were very good as well. Cheesecake was very nice and my wife enjoyed the creme brûlée.
Breakfast service was friendly but a little slower and not as proactive. The eggs Benedict was a little bland. The waffle was a little more dense than we would want in a waffle. The parlour breakfast was almost perfect, the toast just needed to be a little more toasty. Meals were expensive but worth the money. Would eat here again and recommend to others. My pictures aren’t as nice as they would usually be, we were super excited to eat the food and may have taken some bites first.

Great happy hour specials 4-6. We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer, Alaskan salmon and chicken fried steak, all were amazing. I wish more rural attractions could check all the boxes like this.

It’s hard to give atmosphere and service a review when you have an experience like mine. The wait staff was excellent the service from the kitchen was so incredibly bad and hurtful it is hard to put into words. I was part of a party of four on Friday February 13 2026. we ordered at the same time but amazingly I received my salad after the rest of the table had finished there’s, unacceptable. The same thing withe main course. I felt single out and it hurt my feeling like I have never been treated in a restaurant. the Chef is a complete incompetent and should be cooking at McDonalds shame on you. The next night my steak was well done not medium rare. a 10 year old could do better and no amount of we were busy is an excuse. Lila our server was the only enjoyable part of our meals.
