It’s been a very long time that I have had great tasting Mexican food. Decided to give this a try and I am blown away!!! From the moment I walked in, the staff all greeted me very welcoming like I was family even though this was my first time ever trying this place. I asked the waitress for her recommendation and I tried the chicken crema. The chicken and sauce was flavored to perfection!!! The rice was delicious! Their Horchata is one the best I’ve tried. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional quality food and service. I will definitely be a regular here from now on.

Listen, I am picky when it comes to Mexican food. My grandma‘s set the bar high. And there are two specific dishes that I always order at a new restaurant, and that is Caldo de Res and Chile Rellenos…these are basic dishes but I’m beyond snobby when it comes to them. If they mess these up then I will never go back. Lupita’s Homestyle Cocina exceeded my expectations. The chile relleno was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Lupitas only cooks caldo de res on Thursdays and it just so happened to be a Thursday when I ordered. The Caldo de Res tasted like home. I know she used the beef bones to make the broth because you can taste the oils. It was cooked to perfection with big chopped vegetables and nice sized chunks of beef. We also ordered the pick 3 and got Chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and a chicken chimichanga. It came with a nice sized helping of beans and rice. I got a monster burrito with beef and it was no joke! HUGE burrito and it had everything I wanted in a burrito (beef, whole beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The sour cream was on the side and it was served with your choice of red or green sauce over it. Bomb. I got a flan for desert and oh my goodness. I seriously didn’t expect much because the food was good enough. But dang, that flan was spectacular. The perfect consistency and the Carmel top of the flan was so creamy and smooth. It didn’t have that burnt taste that a lot of flans have. All in all, I was impressed by every dish. I would say that the refried beans were a bit salty, but the Mexican rice more than made up for that. I took time to write this because it deserves praise and hopefully gains more business as its location is tucked away behind the KFC on Oakdale road.

It honestly felt like I went over to my family’s house for dinner that’s how warm and authentic the experience was. Lupita’s Home Style Cocina is hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had anywhere. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family, and the food? Absolutely phenomenal.

Incredible food and incredible service!I I was not expecting the food to be that good. I ordered the quesa Birria tacos plate that came with 3 tacos and the dipping sauce called a Consomé. Very delicious, and well done too. The cook/chef is a keeper as of this writing. I also ordered the churro plate that came with the sweet dipping sauce and a churro pre-cut into 3 pieces. The waitress was quick and kind with our orders, and she was always making sure that my group was satisfied. I also ordered the Jamaica (hibiscus) drink, well balanced ratio of water, hibiscus, and sugar. Thank you! I’m definitely returning again!

This family run restaurant is the best and it had been a while since I treated myself to their magnificent shrimp cocktail. I won’t wait so long again, now that I’m back in the area and realized their prices are still affordable. Yum!

This is a family owned Mexican Restaurant. Authentic and flavorful food. Mild to spicy and if you dare try the grilled jalapeños.

Dropped by during travel. The place seems unassuming, but it’s really good. I had vegetarian enchiladas. They were unique and flavorful. Staff was super attentive and friendly.

Lupita’s has moved in where the old La Parilla used to be. Some fresh paint and wall decor were added, but it’s surprisingly almost the same in feel, which is a down to earth family restaurant, which I love.
I was wondering if it would live up to its predecessor and, after my first visit, I think it does and then some. I had the enchiladas and they were delicious. Everything seemed fresh. My spouse had the the comalito—a sizzling meat combo dish. He liked it better than other places because the salt and spice level was well balanced, unlike other restaurants which tend to salt a little heavily.
We ended up getting the fried ice cream because they were out of churro cheesecake, but were not disappointed. Next time, churro cheesecake, next time…
One more note: don’t go looking at yelp or whatever because those reviews and menus are from some other restaurant with the same name but completely different location.
