I am so thankful that this wonderful family restaurant has some awesome comfort cuisine that I have missed since I moved away from my Mexican neighborhood. They have champurrado, a drink that takes lot of time and care in making but is10x better than hot chocolate or coffee. The winter is always best with champurrado and tamales. Of course, the caldo de res on the weekends just hits the spot on these cold winter days up in the mountains. They even make their own corn tortillas from scratch. Homemade! That’s quality that you don’t find anywhere!

DELICIOSO!
Flavorful tacos, friendly service, perfect atmosphere (especially on a hot summer day)
Veggie Sopes were soooo good
Cauliflower taco was tasty
Al pastor tacos were on point
El chorizo taco was great but good for those that like like it spicy

Came to this place based on several recommendations. I venture to say it was the best Mexican I’ve ever had. Homemade corn and flour tortillas. You could tell extra care and effort went into each dish. Next time we’re in the area, this will be our 1st stop.

Best Mexican food around. This place is great. Tacos, burritos, Mexican breakfast, etc… More of a breakfast/lunch vibe. They don’t serve beer, wine, or liquor; just really good food. The taquitos are a must have.
Beware, it’s an easy place to miss, so watch it. Right next to the Wells Fargo parking lot.

Had salsa and chips slung across the table by a very unhappy lady who didn’t even speak or slow down.
Ordered a menudo and was served watered down bowl of 7 pieces of menudos and she even asked me if it was enough menudos and I spoke up and said no that was a sad bowl of menudo so they bring a smaller bowl with the actual normal amount…..and the tortillas were past date ….all around disgusted and the cheese dip got to the table after food and was basically cheese water …. I get it that you run out of stuff on Sunday, but just tell people you ran out instead of serving watered down things.
And then charged me for two menudos.

We really wanted to like this place, but for $6+ a taco(standard size like from any taco truck in the area) NOT worth it. We got carnitas, cabeza, lengua, and pastor tacos- the only one that didn’t have overcooked nearly burnt meat was the cabeza. The enmoladas had terrible mole sauce, it tasted like burnt bitter chocolate, was probably from the jar not homemade. The homemade tortillas were nice, and the rice was flavorful, but sadly we will not be back.

First time having emmoladas and they were amazing. My wife had the al pastor and asada tacos and said they were some of the best she’s had. Every time we’re back up in NC we’ll be stopping by here for lunch as much as my wife will let me. I knew i picked a good Mexican restaurant for lunch once i saw all the Mexican workers coming in for lunch. Great food and friendly employees! We will definitely be back again.
