First-time coming in as I heard good things about the food. Service was quick and friendly. Tried the tender and slider combo, very tasty. The tender was bigger than expected and juicy. The dry rub was a bit sweet for me and not overly hot. Surprised since I ordered hot. The shoe-string fries were just right with the crispness and not overly salty. The sweet potato fries were very yummy as well. Got a little to loud for me, but i expected it when there was a game on the tv. Overall, a good first experience.

Varsity ice house is probably one of the best places in town to watch sports. Plenty of large TVs around the bar and high top area. The food is also amazing. The chicken tenders were seasoned very well and super crispy.
The bartenders are also great there. I never feel like I need to wave a flag to get their attention. They are also all very friendly and chatty. It’s a great spot to sit down, get some grub, and watch the game.

Food is so good! We get the Southwest Egg Rolls or the Firecracker shrimp every time we go there. They both pack a huge punch of flavor with a touch of heat. Entree’s we try to have something new each time, but our favorites are the Henry & Primetime Burgers so far. We love that there is no upcharge for Sweet Potato Fries and the wings are phenomenal.
Service needs some minor improvements, it’s a bit inconsistent. One time we were there service started strong then ended terribly, another time we sat there for 30 minutes with nobody coming to us, so we left. The most recent time we were there we either had no service for a period of time or 3 coming up at once which lead to one of our group members orders getting messed up & an extra drink getting added to their tab that nobody ordered or received. (They made it right & even comped that person’s meal) However, if you get Ari (I believe that is his name) as a server you have been blessed by the service gods. Our best experiences with service have been when he is our server. He is always on top of what you need & checks in regularly, greets you with a big smile, and after a few times of seeing you, he remembers you (maybe not your name but that would be extremely impressive if he did).

Sarah was amazing! She was quick on getting out drinks and food. Whenever any of our items were getting low she would come and double check if we wanted something else. She would always make sure that our table was cleared immediately of dirty glasses, bottles, or plates. Have been there multiple times and her service is always top tier.

Me and my 4 buddies who are all 21, went to eat at 1:30 on a Sunday and all but one of us had an ID that was of age. Wouldn’t even serve us cause the one guy didn’t have his. Walked out and left, now on the way to Up North and give them some company. Thanks a lot.

The sticky Korean chicken slider nearly sent me into a coma. I’m talking eyes rolling back, vision blurring, full-on tastebud blackout.
Sweet, spicy, crispy chicken nirvana. And just when I thought I’d hit the pinnacle of food joy, out come the southwest egg rolls—little deep-fried miracles stuffed with everything good and holy. It was like they were hand-rolled by the culinary gods.
But then the service… man, they must’ve been running the same prevent defense as the Giants. Started off fast, then vanished into the ether by halftime.
Empty beers, no water, and I needed a damn search party to track down more of that godly Korean sauce for my fries. I was this close to going full DIY and raiding the kitchen myself.
But hell, with food this good, I’d forgive ‘em for the slow service. Just pack an extra water bottle and come ready to fight for your refills.

Update: Stopped by Varsity Ice House this afternoon and talk about a 180. Service was excellent and the food was good as well.
Tried Varsity Ice House for the 3rd time. The first time I left after waiting 20 minutes and never even being asked for a drink order. Second time drink order didn’t take long but once we had our drinks it was 20+ minutes before we were asked for our food order. Today was the third try, the drink order was quick, but once again the food order took 15+ minutes. I will say that the food was great, but after dealing with disappointing service we realized we were being charged a service fee that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Between the horrible service and unexpected fees I can guarantee you they won’t be getting a 4th chance.

An absolutely stellar experience. Service was consistently exceeding my expectations. Food thrilled me. Atmosphere has to be the most inviting lobby I’ve had the pleasure of visiting!!
