Definately a place to try Cracklings / Chicharones and Pork Carnitas pulled pork style it is worth a try very good. The Tortilla is as fresh as they come Fresh made to order WOW they make them right infront of you not too many places make hand made tortillas any more they are machine made now.
The meat is very tasty .
Tacos are served with oñion and cillantro acompanied by some red hot salsa if desired
Impressing !. Do stop by and check them out Tacos are $3.00 a piece and the meats are $18.00 per pound.
And may i add dont bring your American express/ Master card as its only a Cash only place.

I saw some tik tok videos of chicharrones and was lucky enough to find this place. Went to Rouses and got some guacamole dip. Dipped the chicharrones in the guacamole and WOW. Hit the spot perfectly.

Decent food, not great but good. And way too overpriced for what you’re getting.

Not overpriced in the way that it’s too expensive, but overpriced as in you aren’t getting your money’s worth. Been there a couple times in the past year, because it’s closer to home than some of the other street taco places on Grand Caillou Rd. The cashier/waitresses are really cute, and the old restaurant that was here used to be pretty good, to be honest that’s the only reason I went back more than once.

Went today and got 2 tacos and a quesadilla. Costs $12, barely had enough meat for the 2 small tacos, and the quesadilla was just a tortilla and cheese, they didn’t even put any meat in it. Not the first time I’ve been ripped off over there, but it’ll be the last time I’m going there.

I don’t get it. This woman is operating this on a shoestring. No debit cards accepted (cash only). No menu, just pictures on the wall with no prices. I ordered something and was charged $15. Three skimpy pieces of meat and the rest was peasant food she didn’t pay a nickel for; beans and rice, lettuce and a wedge of lime for $15. She can’t speak a lick of English. Comes to this country, sets up a rip-off restaurant and don’t learn the language. These type of people wonder why the locals don’t like them. This “restaurant” and I use that term loosely, needs to be boarded up.

I think most of the clientele here speaks Spanish. We needed to use Google Translate a couple times but figured it out. The carnitas and the carne asada were as good as any I’ve had, served with hand made corn tortillas. The black beans were so delicious I ordered an extra side. We also got a third entree, thinking it was an appetizer. It was a sort of chicken mole with poblano pepper, and my favorite dish, which is saying something if you saw me tear into the carnitas. The place amd neighborhood are very humble in appearance, but I think the food is fully authentic. It’s inexpensive but they’re making serious barbecue. We’ll be back for sure. One warning: The red salsa is to be applied with care. Slather it on like I did and it will make you see vapor trails. Yowza!

When we order they dont take debit or credit cards We ordered our food and can soda. The can sodas were expensive. When I sat at the table while my husband had to go get money at the atm. It smelled like urine. The food was way to greasy. We had grease on our hands and fingers. They didnt give us a fork or spoon to put the onion & cilantro on our tacos. Hand sanitizer was empty.
