It wasn’t the prettiest brisket I’ve ever seen but it is definitely the best I’ve had in the DC area. The bark was solid: a true Texas Dalmatian rub. It could have been smokier but don’t take that as a complaint. It was plenty tasty just the way it was. The brisket platter is a hella lot of meat. I had the meat sweats after finishing it and didn’t have room for the oinker I bought. It made for great leftovers though!

I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, mac & cheese and hush puppies. Food was great, service was exceptional. I will be returning! Next time I will try the freshly fried Pork Rines.

Very good family-owned barbecue joint. Brisket and Ribs are very good, but not limited to only those items. A mix of a la carte and platters / combo meals. In-house made sides are good to very good. Friendly staff. Not a large space but works imo for this neighborhood (mix of take out and dine in). I’ll be back.

OMGosh, what a delicious meal!
The ribs just fell of the bone and the smoked turkey sandwich was AWESOOOME! Sides were generous and tasty as well. Enjoyed the outdoor seating.
Thanks Smokehill BBQ for making the trip from Baltimore worthwhile!

Amazing food and great service! Seriously the best ribs we’ve had in MD. All their sides are homemade and delicious. They were all sold out of the brisket, so I can only assume it’s equally as fantastic as the ribs. So moist, tender, and finger licking good. Will definitely be returning!!

Good BBQ in a small town. Pulled pork and chopped brisket are outstanding. Sides are good. The only reason for 3 not 4 Stars is wait times for food were rather long the few times we went. Once they were very long. I’m hoping when they get more established the wait times will improve. Until then I’m gonna call ahead and bring it home . Serving sizes are large and prices what you would expect. All in all a solid local place for good BBQ!!

Could not have been more pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. The baked beans are loaded with pulled pork and can be considered a meal in its own right. If you want amazing food at a great price give smokehill BBQ a try.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had in this area. The pulled pork was delicious. And the greens were some of the most authentic southern greens I’ve had the state of MD. If your looking for good BBQ… stop by.

Just had food from here again tonight after not eating here in a while. Not sure why the heck we took such a long break from SmokeHill! BBQ is excellent and the prices are very fair! It will be back in our weekly rotation if we decide to do carry out!

Not too great.

When we first walked in, we were pretty excited because it smelled like a BBQ place should. THe front of the house was impeccably clean and neat and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, that was the best part of our experience.

We ordered pulled pork, pit beef, pit turkey and pit ham. Sides were french fries, coleslaw, mac and cheese, and baked beans.

The pulled pork was the best thing in the order. But it was pretty dry and didn’t have much smoke or spice. In its defense, we did come in toward the end of the day, but the lack of smoky flavor wasn’t due to long sitting. The other three meats looked and tasted like deli cold cuts that had just been warmed up. No smoke flavor at all. Unfortunately, they were out of brisket so we couldn’t try it. The sides were even more disappointing. The beans, slaw, and fries all tasted like inexpensive pre-made products.

Nothing other than the “pit” meats had enough salt and nothing had smoky flavor. The three BBQ sauces we tried tasted like typical jar sauces, with maybe a bit of extra hot sauce added to the ‘spicy’ sauce.

I really hope these guys can up their game; it would be nice to be able to get good BBQ where I live. I am not writing this out of anger, but rather out of the hope that the owners will read it and take things to a better level. I’m a fan of anybody who decides to go out on their own and I hope they succeed.
