On a rainy day, my friend and I stumbled upon Thai Food Express, in San Rafael, in search of something warm to eat. Upon perusing the menu, the waiter highly recommended a specific soup with orange broth, claiming that it can only be found at this restaurant. We ordered two to share (one chicken flavor and the other duck). Alongside the soup, we had two coconut Thai teas, which were absolutely spectacular with their dark orange color and delightful taste. I couldn’t resist trying a pink drink with Boba to go, which was sweet and delicious, and the vibrant pink color was a nice touch.
The only suggestion we had was to add more broth to the soups. The atmosphere in the restaurant was beautiful, with tasteful decor, cleanliness, and a spacious layout. We enjoyed our seats by the glass window, providing a pleasant view of the street.

Ok, the veggie fresh rolls were seriously unbelievably GOOD. Never have I ever…
The See-Ew was cooked with perfection. And simple eggplant, tofu and veggies just don’t get better. Go here.

10/10 would recommend !!
it was my first time trying Thai food and it was great the service was great and the resturant inside was calm and beautiful. Had the Golden bags, pad Thai, and baked pineapple rice. Everything was great but I definitely liked the rice and the banana desert too, would come again for sure Thai iced coffee was good too 🙂

I usually get my staple of beef salad, sticky rice and coconut soup, which is soooooo good. But my Sister was visiting and I decided to explore the menu more. Every dish was a mouthful of surprise. It was so fabulous, i’ve had to return every day. Lots of vegan and gluten free options! Love love love love love this place!

My first time here and thought the food — and portion — was excellent. I had the Garlic Ginger with Chicken and Shrimp. Lots of mushroom, onion and red pepper too. Super fresh shrimp. It was very, very good.
Great, low-key service and an attractive space. This will be my go-to Thai spot downtown from now on.

So good! Sorry it took this long to try this place because I haven’t been satisfied with any of the the other Thai places in Marin. All my favorites were so hot and delicious!!! Everything tasted quality and good spice. And they were so nice to bring it out the back door for me because I couldn’t find parking on 4th and I had the dog in the car. This will be our go-to spot now. Can’t wait to try more things.

This place is a total rip off. They charged me nearly $23. for a small soup and white rice. They also tried to charge me $6.80 for a 6 oz. Thai iced tea. When I pointed to the glass that they were serving their own employees which was three times times a size they mentioned that was the employee size. The place was dark, empty and the staff was rude. Accidentally ordered from here but will never go there again. Diner beware! I was happy to get a Thai Tea 3x’s the size for $5.00 at Thai Express.

We had a terrible experience! Not only were the workers taking days to service us, when they did they were extremely rude especially when we brought it up too! Food wasn’t even that good, better off spending your money at Panda Express.

I got the vibe that this place is driven by integrity, and really caring about the food they produce. I’ve eaten at a lot of Thai places in my life, and the “Drunken Noodles” were some of the best Thai noodles I’ve had before. According to the waiter, the restaurant also offers a few dishes that most Thai places don’t have on the menu, because the ingredients are hard to find, or they aren’t well-known dishes. Thus, it’s safe to say you will have a more authentically Thai experience than most other Thai restaurants. Overall incredible experience, highly recommend.
