It’s time to make new memories !!! The Geator with the Heater lives on. Memories in Margate, a once-popular Jersey Shore nightclub and bar, underwent extensive renovations and reopened in May 2024 under new ownership by Philadelphia restaurateur Teddy Sourias of Craft Concepts Group . The club’s updated interior features a new video wall, dance floor, and tribute area to former owner Jerry Blavat, along with some of his original music collection, mixers, and turntables. The exterior maintains its classic royal blue-and-white color scheme, complemented by a new sign and tiki bar beneath a pergola. The club now offers a dinner menu and brunch options in addition to its nightlife experience.

Let me summarize my experience at Memories: getting barked at by a man and his girlfriend one minute into walking into the club, bouncers letting girls who are giving their ig handles out skip the bathroom line, getting yelled at for waiting for my girl in the bathroom by the woman attendant, and a literal fight that took place inches away from us (a group of women) that security was involved in (!) and then did not remove the parties from the club.

This is the type of place that I would feel uncomfortable with accepting a drink because I would not trust anyone here, even the women here.

Combine that with being a woman of color. Worst 30 dollars (!) for cover I ever spent. I will literally never return or recommend that you give them any of your money. Bad memories only.

I’m really shaken by what happened to me at Memories in Margate and feel it’s important to share. While out with my friends, a man (probably in his late 50s) took a photo of me BENEATH MY SKIRT without my knowledge. I only found out because another woman witnessed it and told me. I confronted the man, but he wouldn’t acknowledge me, refused to show his phone, and acted like I was crazy.

What followed was incredibly disappointing. I brought it to the female bartender and security, hoping for support. For some reason, I still don’t know why, she was mad at ME and telling me to calm down and suggesting I leave. She gave this creepy man the benefit of the doubt instead of believing me. I was visibly scared, shaken, and crying. The staff made this situation 10x worse. Eventually the bartender and security checked his phone, saw the violating photos were there, and deleted them. They did apologize and offer free shots but there was no chance I’m ever stepping in that horrible unsafe place again. Supposedly the man was removed but it wasn’t without causing a scene and making me feel extremely uncomfortable.

I want other young women to be aware. I truly hope the bar rethinks how they handle these kinds of situations in the future. YOUNG WOMEN DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO FEEL SAFE AND SUPPORTED.

Our night was made coming into memories on Wednesday evening. The bartender Amanda Exceeded our expectations as did the whole night. We danced with the band enjoyed the music & great drinks. The service was so welcoming and we were greatful to find a spot that made our Wednesday night the best ! Can’t wait to come back this was a pleasant surprise.

Horrible experience here last night. We were out celebrating our friend’s birthday when an older man took a picture up our friends skirt. We were kindly notified by another woman on the dance floor. Our friend, who confronted the man immediately, was met with hostility from the female bartender stating “we can’t just kick people out.” It took over 30 minutes of back and forth with the bouncers and management to have this man removed. The pictures were eventually confirmed and deleted. The entire staff here should be ashamed at how this was handled. If you are a woman in your 20s do not go here!

Memories is a lot of fun, great late night down the shore spot. Cruz is the absolute best, and the security are such good people. They helped me & had my back in sketchy uber situation to make sure I was safe . Love them!!!

I’m still in shock over what happened last night at Memories in Margate. A man, likely in his 50s, took an upskirt photo of my friend—who’s in her 20s—without her knowing. Thankfully, another woman witnessed it and immediately told her. My friend confronted the man, but he completely denied it, refused to show his phone, and acted like nothing had happened.

She reported it right away to the bartender and security, but instead of taking swift action, the bartender actually argued with her, saying, “We can’t just kick people out.” The situation was met with frustrating indifference. It took half an hour of persistence before they finally checked his phone, found the photos, deleted them, and apologized.

Their response? A round of free shots for our group of seven women. That was it. No police were contacted. No removal. No ban.

This was a clear violation and a moment when the venue should have stood up for the safety of its guests—but they failed completely. The most disappointing part? We didn’t call the police ourselves right away. We regret trusting the staff to handle it properly.

If you’re a woman, especially in your 20s, think twice before going here. Safety clearly isn’t their priority. When it came time to protect patrons, they hesitated—when they should have acted.

Absolutely disgusted by what happened at Memories in Margate. Last night, a man in his 50s took an upskirt photo of my friend who is in her 20s without her knowledge. A bystander woman saw it happen and immediately told my friend. She then confronted the man, who refused to acknowledge her, wouldn’t show his phone, and acted like nothing happened. When she brought this to the attention of the bartender and security, the bartender actually argued with her and said, “We can’t just kick people out.” Not once did they treat the situation with the seriousness it deserved. It took 30 minutes of back and forth before they finally confiscated his phone, confirmed the photos were there, deleted them, and apologized. Their solution was offering our group of 7 women a free shot. That was it. No police were called. No ban. Just a disgusting level of indifference to predatory behavior. Our biggest regret was not calling the police ourselves sooner. If you’re a woman in your 20s do not go here. You are not safe, and the staff will not protect you. This establishment failed to act when it mattered. This experience has confirmed that they’d rather protect predators than their patrons.
