I actually had a pastrami sandwich from this establishment. First by the name Cooper’s deli you would think it was in relation to the coopers in Newark New Jersey it is not. After having the pastrami sandwich from Cooper’s deli in linden. I did call over to the coopers in Newark and they let me know that they will not affiliated with this deli and rightfully so because the sandwich was horrible. Everything that I and my friend bought from the store was not good. Don’t get me wrong The service was amazing The lady at the front counter she’s a sweetheart. However, I will not be patronizing this store anymore.

I was excited at first that Coopers came to Linden, but hesitant after reading the negative reviews.

However I do try to support local business, so I tried them today.
There was no line. I was greeted, and only had to wait a short time for the food to be made.
I ordered a Turkey and Pastrami, sub sandwich. The Sandwich was big, bread was fresh, they were not stingy with the meat and cheese and they made it correctly.
I spoke of all the positives here are the negatives, the meat tasted like store bought not homemade. The turkey was sweet and threw the taste off. The pickle was dill, and sour pickle would have been preferred.
They don’t have a proper menu, so I added a picture of what they have. I may try them again. But will have to make some requests beforehand.
Hopefully they will only improve.

Got a combo today on a roll. This mess looks like the pastrami that you get from the corner store and the corn beef had a green tint. No type of seasoning on this sandwich at all. Never again.

When you walk in it’s very dark. I ordered 2 pastrami sandwiches and 2 sodas totalling $55. Long story short, both me and my partner was sick for 2 days. Horrible tasting and bad fatty meat. We had to throw them away. Don’t waste your time or money.

Cooper’s in Linden need to close down for real. I brought a pastrami sandwich and the meat was no good. That wasn’t pastrami it was faktrami. Never again paid all that money for faktrami. Wish I can get my money back.

This is my second time going to this location in Linden and the first time I went there last year of 2024 I can actually say the pastrami sandwich was really good. It was a nice size and it was worth it and the desserts were excellent, but today, which is February 21, 2025. I had the worst sandwich me and my husband went there, and the pastrami was wet. It was soggy so when I opened it up soon as I left out of the store, we sat in the car to eat our sandwich and the bread was soggy and I tried my best to eat it. I ate most of it because I paid $20 for it so I was trying to eat it, but I did the best that I could, but there was a lot of fat on it, I couldn’t eat the fat so I had to throw some of my sandwich away And it was just horrible and I was like oh my goodness it wasn’t like this the first time , had it been like that the first time I would’ve never gone back. so looking at all the reviews that I saw I probably would never come back to this location ever again I have plenty of places to go get Pastrami sandwich, I just thought that I would come here and support a local black business, but I would prefer to drive all the way to Edison and get me the best pastrami sandwich ever since the Cooper’s in Newark I believe is closed, unless someone knows of another location, but I don’t think I’m coming back here because it’s too many bad reviews. I probably only read one good review. I’m not wasting anymore of my money here it’s just horrible. You know my stomach was already messed up. And what is it with the meat being wet? And at the other location in Newark Those sandwiches were always perfect. Every time I ate there, for years never had a problem, never ever, not one day did we ever had a problem with anything. so that is it so I give a negative one but there’s not a negative bar so I guess one star will do!

Service was good. I didn’t care for the sandwiches. Too much fat and no seasoning flavor . I don’t think Linden NJ is owned by Sonny. I asked the young lady how he was doing? She said that she never met him. I know longer live in NJ. I am going to check out the old locations Newark and East Orange when I return to town on my next visit.

You know it’s bad when they write COONBEEF!
I asked for LEAN CORNBEEF! You see what I was given. ‍♀️ At the end of the day…. I love to support my black businesses. They have to straighten up and have the customers orders correct, on the receipt write how much each item cost, Have a menu present or at least have the menu written nicely on a board. I drove 40 minutes home to find out my order was NOT what I asked for. I’m very disappointed.

I visited this Linden store and purchased a pastrami sandwich, I was very disappointed with the false advertising of a Cooper’s sandwich store at all. The woman stated it was the same before I
made my purchase. I continued with my purchase and paid for what I thought was a Cooper’s sandwich. This is not an original Cooper sandwich store. They are overpriced and stingy with the fatty pastrami served. It tasted awful because I kept pulling fat out of my mouth. The pickle tasted like a regular jarred dill pickles instead of the original garlic ones served at the Original Cooper’s deli in Newark. I was very disappointed with this overpriced sandwich. I was told that this store wasn’t Cooper’s after I asked about the serving of meat on my sandwich. The guy stated that you get 5 ounces of meat for regular and 7ounces for the large. Then the lady continued to say ” They don’t give you a lot of meat anymore at that Cooper’s anymore. We aren’t affiliated with them anymore and they are changing the name soon to Touch 2″ . Well I hope they let people know before they purchase another sandwich there because we were Very disappointed! Trim the fat and add more lean meat. Stop overcharging it’s not meeting the expectations. If you’re going to sell salads there make sure you have the vegetables to complete a salad, if you’re going to overprice them too. Lettuce and meat is not considered a chef salad. Very disappointed with this store

When they 1st opened the pastrami was really good. After some months for me the sandwiches didn’t taste as good as when they first opened. The last two times I went the pastrami didn’t have any taste so to give them the benefit of doubt I went there today and the meat was horrible. I ask the young man was it pastrami and he said yes. It looked like the pastrami that you would buy from ShopRite and take home to heat up. The bread absolutely wasn’t fresh it broke into pieces as I was trying to eat the sandwich. The coleslaw was old red cabbage that had sat in too much mayo that tasted like it was never refrigerated. The only thing good about that sandwich was the mustard. I will never step foot in that shop again. Back to Newark I go to the real Coopers
