Traditional style bakery. Bread baked daily. Their original Spatz’s 1854 recipe bread is only sold at this location (one different ingredient than their bread that is sent to stores- ask about it!).
Doughnuts are not baked on Mondays, but their full lineup of cookies are available. Doughnuts and cookies available all other days. Spatz’s is the perfect toasting and grilling bread!

For you, I want to call on all Michiganders to help keep Spatz Bakery open. Growing up in Saginaw Township, my family and I frequently enjoyed their freshly baked bread. Spatz offers a wide variety of baked goods, from crusty loaves to sweet treats, making it a go-to spot during my childhood. Their breads are particularly delicious, with a rich aroma and perfect texture, complemented by their assortment of other baked goods such as pastries, cookies, and muffins, all crafted with quality ingredients.
AKA James Leuenberger, saying hi to family, I now live in Los Angeles, CA ; Am musician I do projects for Hollywood; I do keep in touch with hometown.

We really love this bread but why have the slices gotten so small? If they get any smaller we won’t be able to get them out of the toaster. Please go back to original size.

Local, independent small business that has been in Saginaw for a seriously long time! The cake doughnuts were delicious and the value was outstanding. A dozen and a half for around $12. No frills set-up but the nicest staff and great product. Really worth your visit and support.

As a child[86-02], my grandparents would make the trip from near Midland to here every couple of weeks to buy a few loaves. As 1st generation immigrants, they loved this place as did the rest of the siblings. This was our standard bread growing up. It is the best. Slap some Amish butter on it, and you have a meal on its own. Spatz with golumpki, beef stew, whatever… I heard the place shut down, and I am glad to see that it just moved? If they had an online order, I would be paying for overnight air right now. Note: I have not had spatz since 2005. I did get some Krzysiak’s 2019, and that place was still incredibly nostalgically amazing.

Enjoy your Vacation Spatz. It’s been years since I tasted your divine goodness. I suppose I can wait a while longer until you get back from your camping trip and fire up these ovens again. Leaving MBS Loaf Less.

Cash only! Charming, small bakery on State St. with a parking lot attached. When I stepped out of my car I could smell the bread baking, it was lovely. I bought a couple of cinnamon sugar cake doughnuts for .88 cents each – a great price! Other flavors available were plain, glazed, and chocolate dip. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

There white bread is as good as it gets with a muffin type texture when toasted. While at Meijers I always pick up a few loafs.
